Remember, there is no way to properly value this company, the proper valuation is NEGATIVE because that's what profits are
You sir could not less understand what you are talking about by making that kind of statement. Losing money during one quarter means nothing, even during one year, giving this company a negative stock value like your saying, would make them have to pay you to get stocks. Meaning the company would be worth a negative amount with all it's assests combined. If that was the case they would be bankrupt long ago because no one would invest in that kind of company.
Still worth it, your just as guilty for buying stolen property as you would be for stealing it. Unlike spoofed email adresses, the actual person who has the equipment is in the end is responsible for it.
If he could control the thing remotely, I would have sent a signal to flood the crops during the night, that way the next morning the theives would have had a nasty little suprise:) Then you go in and get it back.
It really depends on what data is being looked at. I agree that going through the payroll or other isn't ethical at all, but if some user keeps filling up your partitions on the local servers and you go and have a look to find out it's full if kiddie porn or illegal music/movies, etc. Then it was a good thing you went to have a look, even if it was on his private partition, because the company could get in a LOT of trouble if it got caught with any of that on it's servers.
Given the nature of a sysadmin's job, I think I'd be more worried about the other 2 out of 3 that don't snoop around. A curious sysadmin will find more problems and more possible solutions than one who doesn't care.
I think most people here don't see what's actually going on... This is a real 3d, like imax, but without the glasses and since you're all viewing it on a 2d screen, of course you can't see the 3d!!. They are using holograms to achieve real 3D. I know no one reads TFA but still, some of the comments today aren't of slashdot level.
Sounds fair to me. Anyone who wastes time at work posting on internet sites should really expe... shit the boss is coming. Finishing that sentence was a bad idea anyways, since the majority of posts on slashdot would not be here if it weren't for slacking employees. (Myself included)
Sorry they didn't leave it out, you have to read the whole pdf document though:
In accordance with Fed.R. Civ. P. 38(b), Defendants demand a trial by jury on all issues so triable. Date: May 23, 2008
No, you're right. The summary is just awkwardly worded.
Light is not affected by magnetic (or electric) fields since photons are neutral (no charge). You cannot deflect light with a magnetic field alone (although applying magnetic or electric fields to some materials can alter their refractive index and thereby change the deflection of a light beam passing through that material). Wow, does no one know that light is an electroMAGNETIC wave ????
Did I miss something in science class?
How is magnetism able to affect a beam of light? I'm presuming you either didnt go to your science classes or the last one you took was in grade 3
I don't see why a guy who has the money to buy 20 iphones for him and his friends can complain on not getting the 200$ reduction. He probably makes millions a year so tough for him, he should have waited longer before buy them.
What I'm wondering is, if the companies lose, how hard is this a blow to them paying so much money as a penalty? Would any of them go out of buisness or is 12 billion chump change?
Does Apple truly have much to lose from iPhone hackery?
doesn't Apple get a share of the line charges from A&T?
incorrect, as you may remember in previous slashdot postings, Apple makes quite a chunk of cash from their deal with AT&T otherwise it would be beyond foolish to lock the iPhone without some sort of financial incentive. That is, had it not been foolish to crush any attempts to avoid being locked to AT&T... Did any of you even read the article before posting stupid questions??? Can't believe slashdot has so many people commenting stupidly on something they didn't even read.

LOL I don't think many people got that, because you would be modded 5 for funny :)

Damn guess I wont be able to read the lastest version on this during my next flight to the US.

Nah but I still get suprised by this sometimes. All the answers to their questions are in the article, which is not very long.
As per the article probably around 17.4%
I think the only real problem in this situation is the loser who closed his Netflix account because he doesn't understand how the web works...
