there is no ridiculous explanation required, in fact (actual fact, not movie fact) Lee Harvey being the only gunman is the best explanation. there was no magic bullet, if you consider the way the seats were specially arranged in that limo all wounds are accounted for by a straight trajectory and Oswald would have had no trouble firing that many shots in the time allowed. it's possible there was some sort of vast conspiracy but the evidence simply does not point that way.

i never knew they did that with the frequency band for DSL, and i install the damn things for a living. learn something new everyday. of course that wont increase the total available bandwidth available to the DSLAM itself, cutting out the POTS traffic wont make the OC3 bigger. maybe someday i can get a 3 Gb line to my house. i wont use it, but i'll brag about it.

    no.

that's sort of like saying that if blue light stops shining, won't red light get brighter? (not to be condescending)

the phone calls and the dsl signal are handled by completely different machinery inside the central offices.

except for the splitter in the DSLAM that overlays the two signals (at two very different frequency ranges) on the same wire it's all separate. the internet traffic goes through the DSLAM and up/out through a DS3 or OC3, while the plain old phone (POTS) traffic gets directed through the switches where it gets dial tone.

if this doesn make sense, write the newcastle importer to complain.

we aren't in favor of ripping off artists. we are in favor of ripping off the companies who are already ripping off artists. i'm in favor of totally bankrupting every member of the RIAA.

i've a friend in law school whos had the chance to peruse some of the standard contracts offered by record companies. some of these companies want a new artist to have their first album written, and recorded already, and then sign over any and all rights to get it published.

when you illegally download a song, you aren't stealing from the artist, their record company has already done that.

i personally am in favor of buying from the artists and developers you wish to keep around. support those who you think should be supported and let the rest starve.
