Somewhere there's a few well heeled individuals that just have to own something like this. And, it is a massive engineering feat. I have no doubt that beneficial technology will trickle down to the manufacturing of real practical transportation.
You are a pretty funny guy...
Apparently, one cannot bet critical of much of anything posted on Slashdot - pretty much assures name calling and modding of troll and flamebait.
Having used Linux for the past 3 years now I've grown comfortable NOT paying for an OS. I'm running XP and Win7 RC in Virtual Box on my Linux box. I find absolutely nothing compelling about Win7 to cause me to fork over anything to own the final.
I've been using Ubuntu since Drake and it seems to me that each ensuing distro has fixed at least one problem I've had on my desktop but then seems to be broke in a couple of other places that were fine before. Seems the first thing I do after installing a new distro is search for what's busted now. But, I continue with Linux. Masochistic streak?
I had my right knee scoped two years ago for torn meniscus. Worked great. Getting the left knee done this coming Monday.
I guess the relief I've gotten is all in my head though. Oh well.
I have a Macbook Pro that I won. Whenever I fire it up, I find myself feeling unusually smug and have an overwhelming desire to go to Starbucks.
If I smack myself in the head a couple of times I'm usually OK again.
Safari is a pile of shit that I won't even run on my Mac. However, I assume it can be uninstalled (easily?) if one fails to see the check box. Hell, Google piggybacks with the Adobe installers exactly the same way. Nothing new here but it still pisses me off to see this type of thing.
Yes, agreed about the region codes. Plus, as usual, it's the consumer that gets fucked, especially those that opted for HD-DVD players. And, then manufacturers can't understand why the public is hesitant and distrustful. From what I've seen of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray content, it isn't worth the hassle and the cost. But, I'm certain that the day will come where the DVD will be abandoned, forcing consumers to buy new players and pay more for HD disks. Finally, there's the "upgrade" merry-go-round with new players with "features" not previously available.
Someone said that opinions are like assholes - everyone's got one. Well, I have both as well. The iPhone was/is a huge disappointment - all glitz and no go for a ridiculous price, locked. Someone someday will build the phone the world wants, but the iPhone isn't it.
There, my opinion - now tear me up, fanboys!
I don't want to know everything about Linux. I just want to USE it. I don't work in the business and have no desire to do so. I say hurray for the experts and the expert hobbyists but I'm just a user. Guess that's why I use Ubuntu.
Hey, I am new here you insensitive clod! Now, if I had said that I'd be scored flamebait. This is an exclusive club and I am not a member.

Took forever to download porn.
I just like Firefox. It works the way I like. Guess I've never considered memory leaks and all that. And, I don't even own a Firefox t-shirt.
Glad I'm using OpenDNS since my wife continues to use Windows.
I would comment on this but I'd be modded flamebait or some shit like that.

Another semi-creative way to waste your time. Lovely.
Damn, now I have to worry about Diet Coke! Along with all the coffee, cigars and cigarettes I can't last another year.

Drake was the first time I heard of Ubuntu - media blitz? I don't know.
I am not interesting.

I thought all the "engineering" was done in China. Not bad money over there.
yeah - sure, but who in hell wants to browse the net on a 2" screen? Put down the pipe.
Who gives a fuck anyway?

Sounds strange, I just watched on my Ubuntu Feisty laptop. Not sure what the problem could be. I'll have to think about that one.
It's pointless to try to argue or even make a point with Mac fanatics. It's a cult, there is no reason.
