i use page plus. the service and prices are great, but i hear customer service is lacking. i've never had a need to contact them though, so i wouldn't be able to comment on that. per minute price varies from $0.06 to $0.10 depending on how many minutes you purchase. balance expires after 120 days but will rollover if you add more before the expiration date. i don't use data transfer, so i can't comment on the specific costs of that. they provide service over the verizon network and you can activate pretty much any verizon phone on their service. obviously your sim card requirement isn't met here though.
given that the volume of the universe is infinite there must be an infinite number of worlds.
infinite volume universe does mean infinite amount of matter therefore there are not necessarily an infinite number of worlds. but lets ignore that for a moment and move on.
But not all of them are populated; therefore only a finite number are.
one does not follow from the other. lets look at a similar example from mathematics. there are an infinite amount of numbers, but not all of them are positive integers; therefore there is only a finite number of positive integers. this is wrong however, because we know there to be an infinite number of positive integers.
given infinite worlds, either none of them are populated or an infinite number of them are populated. these are the only two possibilities. since we know that the earth is populated, it follows that an infinite number must also be populated.
might being the operative word. there's usually someone like me that would say 'fuck you' and eat the nuts anyway. aside from that, she probably wouldn't even get sick because she'd have no idea i had the bag open. you know what? i'm allergic to the retard brainwaves coming out of her head, maybe i can get the airline to force her to wear aluminum on her head to protect me from them.
I learned something recently from a police officer. If you get pulled and you are under the influence, Don't take the breathalyzer. it's the safest course of action since they can not prove that you are drunk... you end up on a lesser charge which you can fight in court, but you don't end up with DWI... and the long term associated punishments ( insurance, job risks, social stigma... ) are a lot less. IANAL so you need to reconfirm that this is valid outside of Florida.
depending on where you are you will still have consequences if you refuse to take the breathalyzer. refusing to take the breathalyzer can result in suspension of your license for a fixed amount of time, you will still be arrested and it's possible that you may be required to submit to a blood test at the station.
As far as I'm aware, in the US, you are not asked. You have to ask to be an organ donor.
like i said, where live (dallas county, iowa) everyone i've ever seen getting a license, including myself, is asked something along the lines of "would you like to be an organ donor?" or "would you like it to state on your license that you are an organ donor?" i don't know if this is the standard just in my county or all of iowa, but apparently it's not for the whole usa. i definitely think it should be though.
personally i don't have any bad thoughts when asked the question as i'm more than willing to possibly prolong someone else's life in the event of my death which to me evokes good feelings. i know it's not something people like to think about all the time, but everyone dies and that's something we as rational people shouldn't have a problem discussing when necessary. maybe a rewrite of everyone poops is in order.
For example, in the US we have an "opt in" system with regard to organ donation and around 10-15% participation. In Europe, there's an "opt out" system with 80-90% participation. There may be cultural differences, but it's likely that most of the difference is merely due to the impact of opt-in/opt-out.
i'd like to understand this better, because (at least in my county dmv) the process is quite simple. the person making your license asks "would you like to be an organ donor?" and you answer "yes" or "no". very simple, and i wouldn't really qualify that as an "opt-in" system, as everyone is asked the question. you don't have to specifically ask to be an organ donor and answering "yes" is in no way more complicated than answering "no". perhaps it's done differently in other dmvs, i can't say as this is the only one i've gone to for 10 years.. how is it in europe? do they not ask you if you would like to be an organ donor? is everyone automatically listed as an organ donor unless they bring it upon themselves to specifically request not to be?
whenever i'm at the dmv and person after person responds "no" i always want to pipe up and ask them "why?" but it would be horribly out of line. i just can't understand the reasoning.
some dipshit talking on his cellphone almost backed into me while i was at a gas pump.. he started swearing at me out his window so i mimed talking on a cellphone at him, and he then felt his pride was so threatened that he had to get out of his car and rage at me for it. he actually wanted to fight me over it even though there was a sheriff's suv parked right next to us and two cops were in the gas station.
These special license plates are a signifier for law enforcement that the person driving has been convicted multiple times of driving while intoxicated
stopped reading here because these people shouldn't be allowed to own or operate a motor vehicle. ever.
Going to Canada was a nightmare. The Canadian border patrol were complete assholes and/or a giant pack of morons. Coming back the US border patrol were nice, courteous and friendly. The Canadian side reminded me of a bunch of TSA idiots standing around wondering what to do about a suitcase. Lots of interaction with the Canadian side, not so much with the US side... just kind of cruised on through.
exactly my experience too.. i had to get out of my car and spend over an hour answering questions from three different people, including inane questions about the number of t-shirts i had in my car. on my way back, i showed the guy in the us booth my papers, answered a couple questions about my trip and he waved me on through.
That story sounds fishy. I thought most places had age-of-consent laws that make more sense than that. In Canada the age of consent laws allow, for example, a 16 yo and 14yo to have sex even though the age of consent is 16. And a 16yo could have sex with a 40yo and it's not a crime (well, excluding other categories, such as if the adult is in a position of authority over the child).
this is america. we have prosecutors that want to charge teenage girls that take naked pictures of themselves for their boyfriends with possession and distribution of child pornography. we are not a reasonable country.
I can tell you that I've actually heard our raid leader (A Canadian citizen and ironically, an eighth grade teacher) ask this young raider if he's done his homework before a raid.
what you didnt hear was the private chat afterwards where your raid leader offered him "help with his homework".
In the first round I guess the "homebrew" community will get what it wants...of course if it hold up after appeal it will have the side effect of destroying the console industry (with no need for licensing or control over their platforms there is no revenue stream) but hey at least they would be open right?
i fail to see a problem. if someone wants to sell a piece of hardware, they shouldn't have control over how the consumer uses it.
That's the problem. They will not do it therefore they must be forced to.
Their behavior is monopolistic and anti competitive and is only meant to squeeze the customer without offering a concrete benefit.
you're fuckin dense. the iphone isnt the only phone on the market. if you don't like the terms of the agreement required to purchase it, don't. buy a different phone.

this fails on a couple points.

tom cruise knows your intentions and will be at your home shortly. pervert.

theres a greasemonkey script for that..

the first thing i thought of after reading the summary was growing human meat. sign me up.
I dislike the ridiculous movie / music industry groups as much as anybody but...
You didn't RTFA.
you must be new here.
guns kill people / people kill people is a stupid argument i think.
if a person of the criminal sort is threatening my life and limb, it doesn't really matter if i kill him or if my gun kills him.
i'm not seeing a downside either way.
also to keep things on topic, the internet is for porn.
not necessarily my opinion, it was just a movie quote >

- RISC architecture is gonna change everything.
- Yeah. RISC is good.

now, i enjoy two dimensional PCs as much as the next guy, but.....
you need to upgrade to rps7 or greater.

then the parents got what they deserved for getting cellphones for their kids.
kids don't need cellphones, and if they really feel that they do, they can get a job and pay for it themselves.
