I missed my click wheel when I first switched over, but I found I can now throw my player in my pocket without having to worry about the lock. Not as fun or free when it comes to that... but, I still sorta miss it.
If I have problems with an Ipod, and I wanted something else.. I'm sure it has nothing to do with me being "retard" (way to make yourself look smarter chump)... rather than just having issues with equipment. 2 Days ago, one of my best friends had issues with his as well.. wouldn't even start back up. He had it for a year and it's a brick.
I know that not all iPods are shitty, and I'm not saying they are... but I've had experience with bad ones.
Millions of people have good luck with them, and I dont' doubt that.. but nobody I know has has issues with a zune, just as you don't have trouble with your iPod.
As far as the mp3 copying... let's say Microsoft has the ipod and it wouldn't copy over file names.. and the ipod was able to copy the names over correctly.... Considering you have 5,000 songs on your ipod, WHO would you say had the better hand?
Microsoft throws some insignificant features on it's player.. still maintains the same quality and easier useability with transfers, but it's still worse than the ipod? I don't see anyone's reasoning?
The only real reasoning I could see is this point... A person goes out to look for cars in a certain price range and finds 2 that are identical with the same ratings. One is newer, has a few more features like a built in mp3 head unit (heh, head unit) high tech cigarette lighter, a CB and whatever else... but, the other one has been known to be the best selling and most reliable for 10 years straight.
Now.. with that type of reasoning, I can see why the iPod sells strong. It's well known and people are comfortable with it (just like people using microsoft because it's all they know.. but that story is ancient).
I'm going to be honest... I haven't heard any complaints from anyone I know who actually owns a zune. But, I hear people who have never owned one that talk shit on it's extra features and such. It's understandable, they've never owned one... plus, it wouldn't benefit them if they don't run anything aside from XP, 03 or Vista.
I get your point, but I can't see how anyone can talk smack on better features when they haven't used them on a daily basis, ya know?
it does everything my ipods did, plus a bit more. It's simple and enjoyable, does the job well. Nobody can argue it if they've owned one.
I'm not going to buy a pc because it has shitty wireless, though the other pc with the same components and features doesn't have any...?
yeah, people still listen to radio when they drive to work... and want to continue listening when they get in the building, strange I know, but billions of people still do it anonymous coward.
I'm happy you like your ipods. You obviously love them too. Sounds like more of a status symbol than the piece of shit IPods I owned.
I got the ipod because it was the best product available at the time. I got my wife, father, mother and step mother one. All of the HD ipods had issues with having to rebuild at least twice. I wanted something different and got a zune. It works flawlessly.
Now, with YOUR reasoning... since the zune has the exact same capability, PLUS the ability to copy MP3's back to ANY PC without special software, shitty wireless, radio.... how is the ipod any better, given that their features are identical?
tell me it's a technical difference and not a status symbol or cliche?
I know of 4 people that ditched their iPods when they gave up on them in the past 7 months. It doesn't necessarily mean people are "switching" due to a new product, but more along the lines of not ditching an existing product simply because it's an "IPod" and it works for what they use it for.
Yesterday, a woman I work with asked me for help with her iPod because it prompted her to reset all the software on it, and it was the 4th time she had to do it. She asked me for a different alternative and I told her.
The only thing the iPod has going for it nowadays is the clickwheel and it being a fad. Hell, after getting rid of mine.. I STILL have the habit of calling my zune an iPod.. just because ipod is cliche when talking about an mp3 player.
I hear fewer horror stories from actual zune owners than I hear from iPod users. But, the ipod will continue selling like hotcakes because everyone knows the name.
Anyone could make a product with 400 more features including a free blowjob, and iPod fans would say it was shit because the blowjob was only good for one use, and it wasn't by a thai hooker.
Yeah. Though you listen to it 3 times... um... what can you do with an ipod aside from plug their dirty headphones in your ear?
OH NO.. you can share music, but only get to listen to it a couple times? Be still my beating heart.
I sold both of my unreliable ipods the second I used a zune. I haven't had to rebuild my zune because of data corruption or sync error... I can move my music back to the pc or anyone's pc for that matter, without having to have special software... It has radio which I use often at work...
If it wasn't a microsoft product, and Apple made it... NOBODY would have a problem with it.
I don't think it's a bad OS, but I also don't think that any *nix user is going to buy a Dell.
But, you're right about "since it costs the same", for one. Now that they're the same price, I see people actually grabbing a windows version, saving the license and installing the "free" OS as they do already.
Well, if you checked out the prices of the linux pc's, you'd find that the price didn't change much, if any. When I looked at them, they were almost the same price (if not exactly the same) as the rest of the pc's that were available with Vista or XP.
My guess is, they did it for 2 reasons.
1. Microsoft relations. 2. Profit.
So, it wasn't as glorious and cheap as everyone thought they would be.
Oh, I don't doubt that sales would be a huge in the whole deal. I'm not undermining it as much as I sounded. It just seems as though anyone that takes the step into the Wal-Mart retail world doesn't do it for long.
As far as I'm concerned, Dell has great PC's and pretty decent support. But, I also think that a lot of companies have gotten away from them due to supply and quality.
Either way, it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.
I'm REALLY curious as to whether they'll incorporate the linux OS in some of the wal-marts. That would cause a lot of confusion on the point-of-sale side of things.
When I first read it, I thought it was comical because they actually support Independence day, but not those who faught for the cause.
Granted, I doubt that the Veterans and Memorial day were made to remember THOSE soldiers... but still. I doubt it would hurt much to honor them.
I guess this is all off topic, and I don't have anything against Google aside from that. They seem as if they're a fairly open-minded company aside from that.
I'm not going to get into the whole theory of things. They don't celebrate Memorial Day or Veterans Day, which are American holidays. America being the country they're from.
They DO, in fact, celebrate military heros and liberations of other countries.
Now, I'm not a fan of war by any means, but a reason to not support your own country's fallen, (yet support others) is a shot in the gut.
Honestly, Americans as well as others who died trying to fight Hitler and such.
It's not all about being patriotic, but making a political statement for your own cause is somewhat crappy when you're talking about overlooking millions of men who died in combat, when they were in it just to feed their families.
If you want to fight the man, there are better ways of doing so.. by not supporting any government days of some sort, but don't think you're a better person for undermining two of the only days these guys have, in their own country, which they defended for your own cause.
It's more along the lines of, "If we close our eyes they won't see us" type of deal. Doing things like this by pure intimidation cause temporary solutions, but in the end, you're basically just letting a bully become stronger by making it happy.
It happens everywhere, mostly fueled by the media. He who controls the media, controls it all. It's no longer a physical battle, rather than PsyOps.
Why fight someone with brute force, when you can throw up a television station and blurt out some fallacies, censored media or edited truth to turn the majority in your own direction.
It's not a matter of what is common sense... right or wrong... but whatever the broadcasters and government feel like controlling that week.
In news a year ago, the states showed where a bomber went into a crowd of children that were gathering to get candy from a truck of soldiers. On Al-Jazeera it stated that a martyr died and 2 soldiers were also killed. A while later, allied forces bombed a farmhouse that was tracked down via satellite, containing 5-6 insurgents who were mortaring a base. On Al-Jazeera, they stated that a bomb killed innocent farmers in a barn.
Granted, we know someone has to be right, but nobody really knows.
I don't believe that taking the holocaust out is going to make a muslim extremist have any mercy on a Christian/"zionist". even if you took all of Christianity out, and everyone wasn't religious... they would kill non-believers as well as eachother, until their own sect was in power. You're only giving a bully your money and letting him do what he wants.... but, it's not going to make things better. They feel more powerful after things like this happen. Changing your ways only proves to be a weakness.
BEFORE anyone thinks that selling Linux is desperate, I didn't mean it in that way. Plus, I know the linux thing has been in progress for a while. The walmart ordeal is desperate.
Damnit, i AM a retard. ;) This is true.
I missed my click wheel when I first switched over, but I found I can now throw my player in my pocket without having to worry about the lock. Not as fun or free when it comes to that... but, I still sorta miss it.

Shitty wireless as opposed to... none?

Only when followed by "HOLY SHIT, I think I'm going to vomit."
Yeah. Though you listen to it 3 times... um... what can you do with an ipod aside from plug their dirty headphones in your ear?

fuck.
I should have spent more time writing about grocery stores.
"FUCK, I told you someone was going to ask which patents they were!"
They shouldn't be allowed near a computer unless it's in the kitchen, giving them recipies to bake me a pie!
;)
At least it won't fade out quickly, it's not like they have a ton of money into it. The option will still be there.
I don't think it's a bad OS, but I also don't think that any *nix user is going to buy a Dell.

I guess anything is better than HP.
I wonder where they'll stuff them in their already cluttered electronics department?
Or, will they just have them on crates in the middle of the isles?
"Well, I'm going to go pick up some diapers, I'll meet you between the Dell and snack isles."
True, but you don't know my wife.
I hope it has a titanium frame... my dumbass would break it in half in a day.

Or live sports scores of THE MOUNTAINEERS!
WOOT!
I'm sure it will be decent for RSS and other sorts, but they'll never show anything such as this Google and Memorial day
Basically stating, "If you can afford to buy a burner and media, knock your fuckin socks off."

Pretty funny that this happens at the same time start selling Dell PC's at Wal-Mart. Pretty desperate, I'm guessing.
Riding the wave of all the other sell-outs who disappeared.
Who's up next to bat?
