As a previous poster pointed out this is the 3rd post for the same story. slashDot has really been trying hard lately to post stories just for Microsoft bashing. Including posting several stories older than dirt just to prove they are bias.

slashDot you really should remove the tagline "News for Nerds". News implies you have credibility when you report. In my view you are rapidly losing yours.

I also find it curious that while we get 3 of the same Microsoft story we did not get the story about Apple being sued over the iPhone. Just curious to me.

  14. Re:Makes sense. on Motley Fool Writes Off Microsoft · · Score: 0

There it is. Exactly the point.

Q: What is the problem with Vista?
    A: XP

I am not about to say XP works perfectly. However compared to previous operating systems from Microsoft it is a giant leap forward. Stability, ease of use, deployment, administration. I deal with it every day in a corporate setting and all aspects, compared to previous operating systems, are improved greatly.

So the question becomes why would a company, or individual for that matter, change? They wouldn't. Particularly the companies. They have a product that works well so why spend more money. Individually, I consider myself a power user, I haven't upgraded to Vista and do not see a change in my near future soon.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

  15. Why do you care? on IE8 May Not Pass the Acid2 Test After All · · Score: 0, Troll

    Why do you care?

I am getting so sick of reading this website and all the people railing day in and day out against Microsoft. Anything that involves Microsoft just gets slammed. Good, bad, or indifferent. (This article is a good example. Microsoft is moving toward what you said you wanted, having IE support more standards. What do we have? People not even caring, just hating.)

Reading this website for well over a year, you know what the common theme among you is? All of you say the following.....I use Linix, I use OSX, or I would never be caught dead using a Microsoft product. So I am left to ask again, why do you care? If you are never going to use Microsoft why would you rail against anything they do? Are you that bored? You are going to use OSX so why do you care about Vista? You are going to use FireFox so why do you care about IE? You are going to use Thunderbird and OpenOffice so why do you care about Office?

The stories that get the most posts either involve Apple or Microsoft. Apple is Jesus and Microsoft is Lucifer. There I summed up ever post for you. Now go do something else. Go find a life. Go explorer Apples latest service pack, Leopard. Go write a Linux app. Go outside. Stop ruining the credibility of this website by spewing your hate.

PS: Have you ever noticed that Microsoft fans are not bashing Apple ever chance they get. Can anyone really say that about Apple fans and Microsoft? Think about it.

I am just at the edge of "twenty-something" range. 29 year old programmer and DB admin to be more specific. I completely agree that we are impatient. I can only speak for myself of course but the reason I am impatient with searching or, for that matter, computers in general is simple. I know that computers CAN give me instant and accurate results for anything I ask for. I know for a fact they can and that means they always SHOULD. When they don't do something I know they should be able to, I get frustrated. Inefficient programming, poor AI, or just slow hardware you can choose your reason. They all make me frustrated. If they were serious about a bid it seems odd to me that these major corporations would somehow not complete the application in a timely fashion or not correctly.

  19. Perfect Example on U.S. House Says the Internet is Terrorist Threat · · Score: 2, Insightful

What a perfect example of shaping a story based on your bias. I don't remember seeing anywhere in the bill where it said "The Internet is a terrorist threat." So your headline is purposely misleading. Shame on you. This is what the bill says about the internet. (3) The Internet has aided in facilitating violent radicalization, ideologically based violence, and the homegrown terrorism process in the United States by providing access to broad and constant streams of terrorist-related propaganda to United States citizens. Anyone disagree with that statement? If so, you really have no clue. Plus, when it really comes down to it "The internet has aided in facilitating" pretty much EVERYTHING. You can insert whatever you want in there and almost always be stating fact. Like say, the internet has aided in facilitating you yelling at me about this post. SlashDot: Just report. Do not try to shape thoughts and opinions through your headlines. Even if others are sending you in these links and articles you are the one posting it and you should be responsible enough to change things that are obviously bias. Like this headline.

I have been reading this website for long enough to know that as fact. However you are right. It was a hyperbole simple because I have never seen any article with 9000 responses.
