When someone who is in the business of "using a modified adenovirus to deliver a suicide gene", is using a sig like this, it scares the bejeebers out of me...
I say let Steve direct the three episodes that George says he isn't going to do -- numbers 7 through 9. Heck -- its better than not getting them at all... and letting someone put a new twist on them at that stage might be alright.
And the money that was donated to the IRA went to buy guns and bullets and bombs that killed people who just happened to be walking down the wrong street at the wrong time. Except they lived in Ireland rather than NY.
Anyone who donated money to that cause has the same kind of blood on their hands as the terrorists who turned our world upside down 11 days ago....
Bill Gates could personally take a cold hard cash loss of a billion dollars and it wouldn't affect his life style one iota. I'm sure that hes not too worried about Chapter 11.
Besides -- even if it is running Windows Table Edition -- using one of these things would be pretty cool... (Me in my Crocodile Dundee voice to Palm user: "PDA? That's not a PDA! THIS is a PDA!")
Since that they owned such a big chunk of Corel, they were probably able got a good look at all the source code to the Linux OS! No wonder they are selling it off. They got what they wanted! Are they ever sneaky!!!
OOOoooo... I had hopes for this, but the acting looks horrible and the graphics only so-so. It reminds me of when I went to see Dragon Heart thinking "hey the dragon clips that I saw looked pretty cool, and its got Sean Connery in it, so how bad could it be?" VERY BAD!
I'm waiting for LOTRs...
On, and yes it did look like episode 1 -- another bad sign.
When the Europeans set out exploring, they knew that a good percentage were going to die trying. It was the same with those who set off west past the Mississippi -- some were not going to make it.
Nowdays it is unacceptable to loose a single life. If the odds on a successful flight to mars were 50-50, I bet that there wouldn't be any shortage of applicants, and by using equipment with that kind of failure rate we could probably send 5 or 6 flights for what it would cost for 1 flight now. I don't know what the answer is, because I sure don't want my friend or son or daughter to be one of the unlucky 50%, but yet -- our caution seems to be killing our sense of "gee -- I wonder what is beyond those mountains..."
I seem to think that WinAmp has some kind of built in browser also. (I could never get it to work). I never really understood it their either. I guess that this is kind of a me-too thing.
I don't see the point of this really. I want my plug-in-add-ons to be lean & mean.
Its kind of like having to run windows just to get access to that IE plug-in.
A majority certainly have 56k dialup connect, but an increasing number are moving to cable & DSL. For those peaple (including ME!!!), a 15 minute wait for a download is just time enough for me to make a nice snack. Bandwidth is a serious potential problem, but there is too much money on the line to let that be a problem, and high speed access becomes more prevelent, the "powers that be" will (hopefully) find a way to scale everything upwards to compensate. We'll all move to the Internet2 backbone and all those people will happily move to Internet3 or something.
Don't worry -- be happy -- this is all about choice -- VHS - DVD - or whatever! Take your choice.
how about the morality of agreeing to teach a technology oriented subject at school without having a clue about technology

On - and I apologize to Irish Americans. I should have said that a small number of Irish Americans help fund an Irish terrorist group in Ireland.

So what: terrorist bombs kill people, but people who donate money to buy those bombs don't kill people?

The latest beta version of outlook that I am beta testing automatically disconnects from any web sites that Microsoft has ranked as unfai

I think that this is a perfect example of why the universe should go open source.
