Maybe the West is making too big of a deal over this, as many Chinese citizens seem to like it that way.
If all mankind minus one were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind. - John Stewart Mill
Try turning off desktop effects. Most slowness in Ubuntu are related to eye candy and un/badly supported graphics cards and chipsets.
If you do have a brand name video card, install the proprietary driver.
Or just install IceWM. It's in the Ubuntu repositories along with scores of other window managers.
If CCP told him to release a report, he would have.
The fact he did not and hasn't been fired makes me thing that perhaps CCP found a better use for his time than writing TPS reports. Quarterly reports would be nice, but I'd rather he be concentrating on managing the economy than reporting on it.
Problem is, electric cars aren't very practical right now. Battery capacity, charge times, etc., all need to improve by an order of magnitude.
Electric cares are more than practical for the average American's daily driving. Even the GM EV1 had 5 times the range the average American drives in a day.
So long as it's charged overnight and has at least 100 miles range, it's practical for the vast majority of people.
A girl at my high school had one of the first EV1s off the line, and didn't charge it but Wednesdays and Sundays in a normal week.
Guided evolution never made sense to me. It implies evolution is flawed and eneds god's guidance to get the result god wants.
But why wouldn't god just make evolution in such a way that the result he is looking for is the result he gets?
Balance can only come if no mutation results in a more successful organism in a given environment.
There are a few cases of this, most notably sharks and crocodilians. Other than some basic variations, not much has changed for millions of years.
CCP does have an honest to god real life professional economist on staff. ~z
Yeah, but these days we call him an "economist" (with quotes) since he's clearly too incompetent to notice the creation of trillions of ISK worth of materials without the requisite manufacturing/mining process to support it.
What's more likely, that a guy who got banned falsely claims he reported this bug 4 years ago in an anonymous forum posting, or that a man whose sole job is to look out for things like this missed it for four straight years?
My money is on the guy who got banned being a liar.
Real evolution works similarly, only instead of checking a source image, it checks whether you're more likely to reproduce.
He simply changed the criteria.
How is the editor supposed to know that code snippet X uses three-space-indentation, but code snippet Y uses two-space-indentation, while code snippet Z uses four-space indentation?
Easy. Just set the default indentation in the settings.
To be fair (And I play it) you also need a reasonable stack of in-game cash to buffer yourself against potential ship losses and to acquire new ships and modules as you skill up.
True, but your friends can lend you money if you fall behind.
As for client crashes, run the WoW client with Wine or Crossover and tell me how stable it is.
At least CCP went to the trouble of paying Codeweavers to get the game on platforms they didn't plan to natively support.
Try Eve Online. It's space-based, but no level grind at all, and you never fall behind your friends.
Skills are time based, you set the skill you want to train, and you learn it, whether you're playing or not.
I wish there were a decent fantasy or other non-spaceship game that did the same.
No amount of taxation (limited to) DRUGS will be enought to make up to the massive loss of productivity of drug addicts.
Your mistake is in assuming the law is preventing people from doing drugs. Nobody thinks "I'd love to smoke some crak, but the law says I can't."
The law is very low on the list of reasons to not become addicted.
Those who want to get high, already do.
One reason proprietary OS vendors might refrain from registering their copyright; is the need to reveal source code to the copyright office.
And in 70+ years, when that code is no longer subject to copyright, it may be available to the public (in printed form)...
You mean like this? http://www.apple.com/opensource/
Registration may be made at any time, but it MUST come before the lawsuit.

I can tell the difference at 20 feet as well. More than double the vertical lines is kind of hard to miss.
Free nationwide internet access would be just like what happens with free nationwide health service.
Coverage for people who don't currently have any?

I can easily tell the difference between 480p and 1080p on my 15" laptop. If you can't, you need glasses.
So that makes an anonymous forum posting by an allegedly banned player credible how exactly?

The average gamer is over the age of 30.
You don't need to hack anything to be a nuisance to other players in EVE. You just have to not care about your security status.

People play fantasy football, and THIS surprises you? At least in EVE you can blow stuff up, too.
So I get to pay $30 for books I can legally download for free?
The supreme goal of evolution is an organism that successfully reproduces more than the previous generation.

Yep, that's why I'm at work.

Then use a decent IDE that can fix indentation.
