    Well, Firefox on Linux is a bit different.

    While that page was loading, both cores were 100% utilized on this laptop. I couldn't click on any other tabs, and the Firefox window was ignoring input for a good 15 seconds straight.

    Also, 2.0.0.7 is out of date. You should update!

    Rraaaaaaah! I just finished installing Debian stable ( + full-encrypted disk :o ) again on my laptop.

    I was actually going to download Ubuntu, since I like to keep a livecd handy for fixing people's comps, but decided to hold off for Gutsy. I prefer Debian to Ubuntu, personally. :P

    I guess I'll install ktorrent now and let her rip. Thanks for the link!

    I've recently taken an interest to electronic/house music (normally, I'm a death metal and classical kind of guy :P), particularly Daft Punk and Justice.

    Unfortunately, Daft Punk is on EMI, so I can't support them by buying their albums. :(

    Oh, I don't care about phishing sites. Phishing sites only affect idiots (and those with a modified hosts file), so I could care less.

    I care about preventing a flaw in a PHP script from letting an attacker gain root access (and let them install rootkits).

    A WEEK?

    I bought a CentOS dedicated server on an unmetered 100mbps line a few months ago. It was set up, and I was emailed the login info within the hour.

    I logged in and grep'd /var/log/secure.log for 'failed'. There were already over THREE THOUSAND failed login attempts over SSH. Within the first HOUR.

    Run apache in a chroot (OpenBSD does this by default), and use SuExec ( http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/suexec.html ) if you insist on running PHP.

    Why bother updating a potentially rootkitted machine?

    Once untrusted code has run on your machine, you can no longer trust your machine.

    Backup data, wipe, then reinstall.

    But graduating high school and having used Ubuntu once qualifies you to talk about Linux! And you don't have to know C/assembly language to pretend to be knowledgeable about rootkits!

    What about bands that use D, C, and A# tuning?

    Well, the only band I know of that uses A# tuning (THREE steps down) is In Flames, and they only use it live.

    It's a lot easier to sweep pick/sweep tap way up high when you're detuned.

    Third person singular pronouns do not use apostrophes for their possessive forms. e.g. his, hers, its

    Portal is going to suck, TF2 will be a shitty anime-esque mod (on the other hand, Fortress Forever blows, too), but Valve will keep getting rich off you fools even though they have the worst developers next to Blizzard.
