Repeat. Repeat.
Before you know it you'll not only know Analog, you'll know digital, power, discrete, mosfet, thermisters, instrumentation, audio, dsp, uP's, more truth tables than you can shake a stick at.
But then you'll be needing parts..
Head on down to the local flee markets again, buy up all the electronics, buy up the best soldering gun you can afford, buy a few propane torches, and then get to desoldering. You can do some boards all at once, heat one side and bang it on the floor the chips will drop off. If you smoke, quit, if you do drugs quit, also try to do this desoldering outside not inside. You'll learn you need chip pullers and other small tools. Many tools you will make yourself.
Styrofoam pads can be used to store your chip sets when they are not on breadboard.
You'll eventually get to the point where your whole home is nothing but electronics. And you rarely need to by parts except weird analog shit.

Why aren't we recycling old computers to make into cheap (like $20) iptables based firewall appliances?
Now the "$100 laptop contest" is over, the public needs a "green friendly firewall appliance" to protect their Windows XP boxes, keeping their wireless, servers, and workstations separated, and protected from the spooky unwashed web. Something along the lines of having either phone or ether uplink and several extra ether connections for several different networks.

One thing I have done is to take the input circuit of the power supply to my garage door opener, and soldered in a new SCR transistor and the logic to receive a signal from a second IR transmitter. (note: you can find parts from a discarded garage door opener that maybe has something else burned up in it--it's how I got the parts.)
This second transmitter has a 30 second delay (555 Timer Cough) and only stays on 20 seconds.
Therefore, my garage door won't open by using a scanner, you have to first know the freq's for the POWER SUPPLY, then you need to know the freq to open the door and you have to do it 30 seconds after the first freq is received.
final note: get the power supply receiver and timing working with a light bulb before you go live with it. Make sure you solder everything, and mount everything proper, this is a DANGEROUS device that can kill you if you fuck up.

So in the microwave, the wave bounces around off the surface, and is absorbed by the food. The CB bounces off of Streets, Parking lots, buildings, homes, and get's absorbed by trees. Don't ask me about the Ionosphere, cause I am hella rusty on that shit. Parts of it bounce, parts absorb and don't.
So when everything went to these god damned microwave signals, we have small penetrating waves cooking our ass's slowly over time.
So a wave does three things.
1.) Travels Forever in a straight line. 2.) Get's absorbed. 3.) Bounces off an object that is larger than itself.
That's why if you have a bunch of trees your VHF analog signals are going to fade when it's windy. The trees moving around are absorbing the waves. Being analog, means it does not need to have a whole packet in order for SOME of the non-absorbed wave to get through.
With the signal now being digital, in order to reproduce the intelligence, you need all the parts of that packet, so when a wave with a digital intelligence is absorbed by those same trees parts of the packets are lost, and without the full packet your signal looks like crap.
Think of it like Zmodem vs. Xmodem transfer interruption. A Zmodem can recover using error control, where the Xmodem transfer is completely lost and must be started again from the beginning. (A bad example perhaps)
From an engineer's standpoint, you'd pretty much have to say all these problems like net neutrality, fascist media, and technical problems like broadband over power-lines and (this one in this article included) were created on purpose to destroy the public's ability to stay informed.

Common sense physics would show you that the size of the wavelength is proportional to the frequency.
Example: a 20' basketball would be equal to a wave with analog modulation on a CB radio, where the holes in your microwave over are so small they don't allow the size of the microwave ping-pong ball to get out. So in the microwave, the wave bounces around off the surface, and is absorbed by the food. The CB bounces off of Streets, Parking lots, buildings, homes, and get's absorbed by trees. Don't ask me about the Ionosphere, cause I am hella rusty on that shit. Parts of it bounce, parts absorb and don't.
So when everything went to these god damned microwave signals, we have small penetrating waves cooking our ass's slowly over time.
So a wave does three things.
1.) Travels Forever in a straight line.
2.) Get's absorbed.
3.) Bounces off an object that is larger than itself.
That's why if you have a bunch of trees your VHF analog signals are going to fade when it's windy. The trees moving around are absorbing the waves. Being analog, means it does not need to have a whole packet in order for SOME of the non-absorbed wave to get through.
With the signal now being digital, in order to reproduce the intelligence, you need all the parts of that packet, so when a wave with a digital intelligence is absorbed by those same trees parts of the packets are lost, and without the full packet your signal looks like crap.
Think of it like Zmodem vs. Xmodem transfer interruption. A Zmodem can recover using error control, where the Xmodem transfer is completely lost and must be started again from the beginning.

From an engineer's standpoint, you'd pretty much have to say all these problems like net neutrality, fascist media, and technical problems like broadband over power-lines and (this one in this article included) were created on purpose to destroy the public's ability to stay informed.
Your ability to get internet access from the power company should not override my ability to transmit emergency intelligence over the air. Yet, that's exactly what's happened. It's fascist agenda, driven by profit.

Some of these channels they don't even OFFER!!
When you run p2p tv for your entertainment, they can't sell you Cable TV.

So your idea of "computerized tabulation" will work only if the public John Doe/ Jane Doe/ You/ Me/ Slashdot Readers/ "We The People" and anyone else is allowed to destructively reverse engineer every electronic voting machine component under an electron microscope looking for backdoor logic (Which is NOT allowed), and any network, hub, switch, vault, radio transmitter, Radio receiver, or memory device that might have been used in conjunction with the election (Again the public is NOT allowed to, not to mention it would be physically impossible and too costly at the expense of bringing down the entire communications infrastructure.), and monitor the whole spectrum 24/7 at all geographic locations during an election.
