  1. You didn't need a lawyer for that on Police Seize Computers From Gizmodo Editor · · Score: 1

The guy that "found" the phone "found" a working, unlocked phone unit. Since the guy didn't bother to contact the person that lost it KNOWING WHO WAS since the phone was logged in his Facebook account, or give it back to the bartender, or make a call to ANY of the people in the contact list or redial the last number dialed, from the very beginning it was clear for Gizmodo or EnGadget that they were dealing with a thief selling stolen goods. Plain and simple.

The excuse that the thief instead did the most unintuitive, unreasonable thing, to call Apple support, and really expect to be taken seriously about he being in possession of a secret prototype iPhone, is absurd. Only a stupid moron would believe that; well, perhaps the same kind of stupid idiot that would boast publicly that he paid $5K for an stolen good.

One thing is to use your freedom of speech to oppose the government and another is to push for a coup, that is what those tv companies did. Even in the USA, if you publicly express your desire to kill the president you could end with a visit from the US Secret Service, and you could bet that if a TV station repeatedly called for the overthrow of Bush on his time or Obama now, they would end with their broadcasting license revoked by the FCC.

Now, before you think that I am a chavista tool, I will list what I think are Chávez shortcomings:

    - He doesn't know when to keep is mouth shut.

    - After 10 years, the security in Caracas hasn't improved noticeably

    - His government has been weak in the fight against corruption

    - Lack of provision in the design of the electrical grid of the country, that was under rolling blackouts.

    - Inflation

    Now, about his government successes:

    - Increaced greatly the medical care coverture.

    - A successful campaign against analfabetism.

    - A big push toward education.

    - The strengtening of the OPEP that helped to increase noticeably the governments income from the oil.

    - The new metro line (or lines) in Caracas.

    - The steady recovery of real wages under his government, despite the inflation.

Meanwhile, the shrinking middle class pays 28% income taxes, 16% VAT and, to add insult to injury, a 2% tax on bank deposits if they go over USD$1,100 monthly. The shameful and stupid failure (I still think that this was made on purpose to kiss Bill Gates ass, even the panistas aren't that incompetent) of the Fox's administration to successfully promote the use of Linux in Mexico's schools in the early 2000's kept Microsoft entrenchment in the OS and apps arena in the country, making rampant piracy and corruption the norm in computer use.
