Apparently once upon a time all articles submitted by Roland linked to his blog which linked to the real article (as a way to generate ad revenue, I think). And he continues to take flak for it to this day.
Like I said, this is second-hand from earlier discussions. I was not here when it was happening.
But then you could have a significant number of people attacking the Vista and Mac boxes (say, 20% each) and the other 60% would be split up among (maybe) 4+ Linux boxes.

I have also unblocked ads for /., but it's kinda pointless because I won't allow doubleclick through NoScript. Why do we need animated ads?
Sorry for the inconvenience. We have fixed it now. The new method also requires your email address, SSN, and your ebay/payal IDs and passwords.

I'd say that allowing updates to be installed would be fair.
How can it crash into it? Should be impossible unless the tracks end there and trains need to be turned around.
