the perpetual (yes, perpetual) motion of water vapor Not perpetual. As you pointed out, the Earth is entirely Sun-powered. Perpetual motion, by definition, would continue to move without any further input of energy. Take away the sun, and I can guarantee you that everything other than the Earth's core would stop functioning pretty quickly.
What good would that do? They could update their Firewall much faster and more efficiently than they could push out updates to every PC in the country.
Why close the source? Just sell the thing, and spread rumors about a site where it can be downloaded for free. I'm sure the masses there are just as ignorant about closed source as masses here.
I was making a joke, cutting and pasting his sentence and changing a few words to turn it around. Apparently nobody found it funny. All well..
Maybe you should just be a man and accept that you made a mistake. OK, so feeding the trolls is not a good idea. No need to be rude about it. Has ignoring them ever been successful?
Why don't you trolls just shut up? Go outside, meet females instead of wasting your virtual breath. you'll see there is more to life instead of just being an a**.
No wonder we get goatse.cx posts. Unless posting is not an unfavorable experience to it's authors. (Word of caution: don't clink any links appearing in reply to this)
If one could account for signal distortion/degradation, ham radio sets could conceivably be used for broadcasting files. And I mean as a binary ogg/mp3/aac/flac/whatever, not as audio that can be played by any radio.
With tinfoil hat still firmly in place...how does that save you in an apocalyptic scenario? Where does the technology come into play that gives us a good starting point with seed stock if the technology to manipulate DNA isn't available because of the collapse of civilization? Additionally, a chunk of potato is smaller than a hard drive, and would be easier to clone than make from scratch.
You have a point. Cape Canaveral would be a nasty place to turn a rocket into a dirty bomb.

If/when civilization collapses, tribes would quickly learn that certain grounds are sacred to the gods and should never be visited.
The difference here is that Nokia does not own MP3.

+1? So Elitism is a good thing?
Disclaimer: I don't have an opinion on GPP.
A pilot is less likely to get a chance to learn from his mistake.
Insanity, not stupidity.

Funny that your .sig mentions drums. I was thinking this could be possible using two different drum tones.
Notice how no Sociology professors seem to be protesting your comment...
I second the icon motion. ;-)
Well, this is embarrassing. How popular is it? Also, what kind of bandwidth is there?

/. seems to do it to, too. The D2 system doesn't collapse properly in IE. :)
Even if MS said that they weren't keeping the data, I'm not sure anybody would believe them.
