Shareholders would like a return on their investment. That is completely understandable.
The problem comes in when a company is in a mature state (Microsoft comes to mind) and they are a publicly traded company. You have to raise profits.
If a company was privately held, they, if they wish, is to be content with steady profits. Maybe more companies should go private.
I mentioned on another post that Microsoft has waisted billions trying to get into new markets when they would have been better off just giving the money to their stockholders.
Not to say those companies have done well, but you want to look at the overall trend over the last 10 years. You don't want to compare the height of the tech bubble to today. Not really a fair comparison.
If you look at the MSFT from the end of the bubble to today, it is about the same.
Even if you take into account that 10 years ago was the height of the tech bubble, it is amazing how much money Microsoft has wasted trying to get into new markets without any appreciation to its stock price.
All that Zune R&D money should have been given out directly to stockholders so they could have done something useful with it.
Lucas was very upfront with his influences. And yes "good artists borrow and great artists steal."
I think the lack of subtlety with the characters and the political points were the main complaints I've seen. However, the white guy going native angle seems to be done too much, so that is another area of complaint.
Some people have guessed that there may be or may have been life on Mars due to a meteor striking Earth and putting Earth material into space. I would assume the Moon, being so much closer, would have caught a lot of organic material over the years from numerous meteor impacts.
no kidding. If you are unreasonable enough or you have absolutely no trust in Oracle, nothing will get rid of your concerns.
The source code being under the GPL currently so you could fork it if needed (what the GPL was intended for in the first place) isn't enough for some people.
Seriously, Stalin let Hitler attack Britain & Poland. They were double-crossed. The Soviets did sacrifice a lot, but let's be honest. They were bastards.
Don't be bitter. If the Yankees didn't exist, we would have to invent them. They collect the most annoying free agents. But more importantly they collect all the front-running annoying fans.
It seems that Android will kill Windows Mobile. That appears to be the real story. Most non-Apple/RIM companies will get behind Android and avoid Windows.
Did they put a gun to your head and tell you to buy something you didn't want? Or was it your wife or girlfriend?
Hopefully, you have just one of the two or you'll be paying for something far more expensive than a Mac.
WSJ can be business expensed by a lot of people.

I have wondered if less "real" problems (such as not having to struggle to sustain your existence) manifests itself in more depression, anxiety, etc.
When you are busy just surviving you have less time to dwell on your problems.
Just a theory. Not that mental issues didn't exist in the past.
I know from my own experience and of some close to me, when you are sitting around thinking and are prone to these issues that's not a good thing.
If you don't know what you want to do, take as many courses as you can so you don't limit your options down the road.
Correct. Picasso.
So women tend to like chocolate and telling them that they are slim. Milky Way's are made out of chocolate. It is all becoming clear now.
The Milky Way is on a diet because it is right after New Year's and after the holidays.

Ok, off-topic but...
Slavery doesn't exist in America & Nazis don't exist in any meaningful way. I'm not pro-war. I'm just anti-pacifism.
And communism existed.

Not to mention your predictions based on stuff you can replicate actually come true.
Because the potential answer to this question could mean unheard of control over the lives of billions of people and trillions of dollars in costs.
All my sig says is that wars settled issues, largely in response to "wars don't solve anything" which is complete b.s.

I got sent a termination fee bill from Verizon when I left for AT&T/iPhone even though I was past the two-year mark for my contract.
Plus side, Verizon was very good about tossing it out immediately.
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.

Yeah, I'm part Irish too. I can't stand being in the Sun/insert favorite star here.
