  1. Dumb analysis on Ask Slashdot: Why Are Scientists Constantly Surprised By What They Discover? · · Score: -1

Basing such an analysis of scientists on the news stories they put out is pretty dumb. That is like thinking a salesman (or women) talks the same way in personal relations as when trying to make a sale..dumb. stop writing.

  2. No stupid, its a Time Machine! on China Announces Launch-Success Details — Before Launch · · Score: -1

You can read about it in the Londen Tatler of 1865..

  3. GPS is a passive signal on The Mobile Internet You'll Be Using In 10 Years · · Score: -1

Data transmission is not cheap. You still pay a hefty sum for your bandwith if you are in Africa. GPS is a passive signal which can not be compared to datatransmission, and I believe the satelites used are actually going to be taken out of commission without known replacement. So the reasoning that this new system will become cheap doesn't hold.

  4. CFD datacenter expert looking for work.. on Microsoft Innovates Tent Data Centers · · Score: -1

I just got ready with a course on CFD and have the software to build models, see my Youtube channel. I'm looking for people with a datacenter that want to know how to set the temperature to be within the range they choose across the datacenter (or serveroom) or that have other questions that need CFD to answer...

  5. Scientology link on "Anonymous" Hacks Palin's Private Email · · Score: -1

The involvement of anonymous is not much of a surprise to me. I may be worng, but Sarah Palin's 'I didn't blink' remark sounds a lot like 'facing without flinching' which is what scientology states as one of the signs you are up to the task and over your 'problem'. These people choose thei words very carefully. When I heard her say that I wondered how big of an election force scientology is by now.

  6. The LHC should be destroyed on LHC Success! · · Score: -1, Troll

According to some CERN scientist the LHC could spawn tiny black holes that would move around the eurth as satelites, feeding on it and eventually become noticable only four minutes before devouring the earth. No scientist can say this definitely won't happen, some say there's a 50% chance. I would not allow any experiment of this kind before everybody is sure the risk was zero. Even then I would suggest we cool it and focus on real problems. Those who say the tiny lack holes would dissapear instantly, you are misinformed. They are solid mass. They can only grow, and anything that interacts with them will be sucked in.

  7. HVAC airflow modeling on Cost-Effective Server Room Air Conditioning? · · Score: 1

Well, I'm about to embark on a course where I learn how to exactly model the airflow in server rooms. I thought this would be usefull for cases like yours, to be able to evaluate possible alternative setups and improvements to the configuration of your racks, ventilation ducts and airco's. This in turn is part of my switch to green IT consultancy. I still need a demo case for the course, so if this is interesting let me know. Cheers, and don't sweat it ;-)
