Yes. That patent has now expired in the U.S., and I think was soon to expire elsewhere. Unisys actually made hundreds of millions by licensing LZW (Lempel-Ziv-Welch) compression.
That was an old ad campaign. Unisys actually supports running Linux on its biggest servers, as well as Windows, the Clearpath MCP Operating system, and the OS2200 operating system.
being able to reason out various thoughts and change your decisions if the situation merits
More like change your decisions depending on who your audience is. Kerry isn't the only one who has this problem, former President Clinton was known for this. I prefer a candidate with convictions, not one who has been convicted.
You can non-fraudulently pretend all you want. Actors, for example, do it all the time. You can even fool people if you want.
You just can't, in any manner, charge for it.
New Zealanders are not paranoid, are not used to thinking "OMG it's a bomb!"
What if the device has little lights that show a cartoon figure giving you the finger? Would you think that it was a bomb then? Not so smug now are ya?
And no, if a burglar drops his wallet with $1,000 on your floor, that doesn't make the money yours.
Yes it does, but it wasn't $1000, it was about $2700, and it wasn't a wallet, it was a pillowcase, and while he was in my house, I killed him, and while it was dark, I buried him in my back flower garden. The flowers have grown quite nicely there ever since.
Arrested for "theft of property"? Now that really doesn't seem right.
It would have been funnier if he had removed the devices from his automobiles and put them on other random vehicles. Preferably ones that travel long distances. And then he could just keep quiet about it and see what happens. If they charged him with "theft", then he could claim that he knew nothing about the devices at all.
If the Bush administration had been less concerned about how to maximize profit for civilian contractors and more interested in studying what MacArthur did for Japan and what the Marshall Plan did for Europe we wouldn't have such a mess in Iraq right now.
You're right, the U.S. should have nuked a couple cities in Iraq, and then just forgotten about them.
the worst thing that could have happened is that they all fargin detonated a nuclear explosion that destroyed half the country.
No, the worst thing that could have happened is that they detonated and started a chain reaction in the atmosphere turning the earth into a giant nuclear detonation that then turns the sun into a super giant super super ultra wiz ding nuclear detonation that starts a chain reaction and destroys the universe. But it didn't.
Maybe the cargo bay was full. Perhaps the people loading the missile didn't know it was to be decommissioned. Maybe the people loading it didn't know that it wasn't supposed to be mounted under the wing. Maybe the people loading it didn't know it was nuclear. Maybe it balances the aircraft better if mounted symmetrically under the wings. Someone somewhere made an error. Could be just about anything.
"Would have" not "would of" by the way.... I've never understood why coders of all people are slack with their grammar. You guys wouldn't tolerate it in the code you write...
The question is "Does the aircraft's system alert the crew to the type of warhead on the missile?" They may know they have a "live" warhead, but not know whether it is nuclear, conventional, or other, or not. And perhaps you are correct, perhaps the missile was not properly connected to the aircraft's systems.
SWIFT (not Swift) is the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SWIFT, and while headquartered in Belgium, its network SWIFTnet is, I believe, run out of Culpeper, VA. U.S.A., and their technology center is in nearby Manassas, VA. http://www.swift.com/

Yes, the democrats will surrender as soon as they take the presidency.

And it is language dependent.
Do they have "interstates" in New Zealand?
So when Actors do it, they don't get paid?
Yeah, but so is Rosie O'Donnell.
Gee, if you hadn't posted as an AC, I would have friended you!

Hmmm.... really? I guess I'll be moving to British Colombia then -- but I'll leave my dog here.

Well, I thought it was funny, but I can't moderate on this topic.
So that's why I can never get the syntax quite right...
The missiles were to be decommissioned, not the warheads.

Our Major General may well know what he is talking about, or he could just be misinformed, or he may just be spouting BS for CNN. We don't know.
Sooo, if we don't fly nuclear weapons, then how do we transport them?
Do they have a compiler for English?

The new version is Microsoft Update.
I'm surprised that Microsoft isn't on the list of companies being sued. Outlook and Exchange server both have an automated email response mechanism.
