    There was no freely availalbe Xserver/XClient for Windows until recently .....

    VNC will work on any graphical system, Windows, X, And most others .... that's the point it is *not* tied to X and so can be universal

    The X approach is wrong (for various reasons)
        - But X is simple enough that it's inadequacies can be worked around
    Windows is wrong (for various other reasons)
      - But this is Windows so there is no way to work around it's inadequacies...

    Point 1 - Labour and the Lib Dems would almost certainly raise a vote of no confidence very quickly, and we would be back to another election

    Point 2 - Is the most likely ...

    Point 3 - As soon as Parlement is recalled, the first action would be an unwinnable vote of no confidence this would get rid of him...and force an election

    Point 4 - Would most likely be a very similar result to the current election?

    So that excludes Macs, Linux, Smartphones, all other operating systems, all minority browsers.....

    A recent version of windows, with an up to date IE should be OK ..... Probably?

    On-line office suite : Run anywhere from any system ..... as long as it's a specific system .... typical Microsoft

    If you are discussing OOXML Standard

    Then there are two : ECMA-376 which Word 2010 supports (But so does Word 2007 and OpenOfficeOrg)

    and : ISO/IEC 29500 which Word 2010 does not support .... and neither does anything else (Microsoft are "working towards" the standard)

    This is the experience in the UK - Speed cameras at best get people to slow down at the Camera

    They speed before it, they speed right up again after it .... so the traffic does not flow it goes at full speed except at the cameras ... ...and yes the only people who get caught are the tourists (to see the camera too late), and the stupid

    It does nothing to prevent accidents except at the camera (and even that is just shifted 100yrds up the road)

    Since they only count public downloads they are undercounting .... ...there are many other ways of copying a game, any many private torrents etc that are not counted

    But saying that many downloads do not result in a pirated copy, and most pirated copies would never be bought ...(many are using it as try before you buy)

        Any case would be trying to prove he used protected information illegally or actually hacked an ATM for gain ..... ...he can't be prosecuted for publishing known information (freedom of the press)

    Most People without jailbroken phones won't bother because your app is not recommended by friends and they cannot try it ...

    Most People with a jailbroken phone will try anything .... and most gets deleted very quickly

    The same goes for PC and console games, if people have the option to try it for free they will try many many games ... if not they will very carefully choose (and still get stung with crap games occasionally)

    Sounds like the miasma theory by another name .... which works because generally Bad air does mean disease

    The London Sewers were built because of the miasma theory, not germ theory (which came later).... and worked ....

    Just because a theory is wrong does not mean it doesn't work, and if it works it will be re-invented over and over ...

    Your CPU spends the vast majority of it's time waiting ....or doing stuff that the operating system thinks is important and you don't ...

    If your CPU is not at 100% then the lag is not due to the CPU

    Government can do two thing with regulation and taxes

        They can discourage people from doing things that are bad but would be profitable to do

        They can encourage people to do things that are good but are not profitable (in the short term) to do

    Unfortunately they often add so much bureaucracy that it discourages people anyway ....and the people who can afford to pay people to work around the bureaucracy are the ones who need stopping from going for the bad short term gain ....

    Before this copyright infringement was not a indictable offence i.e only a Civil Offence in which the police have no power and had to be made by the Copyright holder directly on the alleged offender, this is still true but now they can on suspicion only get the ISP to punish the alleged offender without a court order and without a hearing ....

    The ISP will have to pay for (at least part) of this process, and will lose a customer .... No wonder why they are trying to find loopholes

    None of the people have ever met and do not know the person on the profile ...so datamining can have fun with this network ...

    If they have no knowledge of what is said then they cannot be held responsible ... and the sheer volume of traffic means they cannot police it ...

    Most countries do not have a constitution that allows free speech ..... ...the USA does and still restricts it more than some others who do not have this written into their constitution

    Your blacklist should start with the USA .... and probably go on to include most countries
