Funny, I just saw an ad on TV about their "unlimited" plan today. I love how corporations take common words and turn their meaning around. "Yeah, Mr. Judge, it's unlimited, but unlimited really means up to 2 GB a month"
first, airlplanes should be constructed to make hijacking physically impossible, (not that hard to do)

As any pilot as well as airline employee such as myself can tell you there is no such a thing as "impossible to hijack" human creativity prevail, you might make it harder for a while but some new idea will come up eventually. Second, hijacking is not really a problem, how often do you read hijacking stories? The problem is the introduction of dangerous components into an airplane and that's the responsibility of TSA and if you ask me they're doing a shitty job. Every time something is found on a plane (like the taser gun last week in EWR) it's found by the crew or the airline ground personnel, which means that TSA let it in. TSA is a monstrosity that needs to be re-designed from scratch, as it is right now it's just a little more than a money sucking machine.
Actually it seems to me that land recovery (aka landing) is a lot more costly as it requires a totally different aerodynamic design and instrumentation, plus training.
Are the passengers getting their luggage shipped in the planes and not allowed to board or what's happening? As far as I know sending a plane with luggage for a passenger that hasn't boarded is against FAA rules.

Not true, I work in the airline industry at an airport. The bag cannot be sent ahead of passenger by law only on international flights; on domestic flights it's not illegal to send a bag on a different flight, just not preferred.

Italy is going to a referendum and it's said that close to 90% will vote against nuclear power.

I saw a launch twice, one night and one day. I went to Florida last month to see Endeavour but 3 hours before launch it got cancelled. I'm gonna try again in July. Totally worth it.

I have an iPhone 4 which can't still be unlocked (4.0.2) and I've had enough of Apple's tactics. Plus my iPhone doesn't work anywhere else, I tried in Rome, Paris, Tokyo, Bangkok, nothing. My next phone is going to be a Droid.
But if you don't know that - when you waltz in on the conversation, and someone says "The House" you intuitively think "The White House" and not "Congress"

Why would the people implementing security theatre want to subject themselves to it?
They know it's just show. Not to mention the whole being above the law thing.
Because some people should be exempt from these stupid security checks, like the minister of defense, or people like myself who work all day in, out and around commercial airplanes, have passed a thorough background check and if we wanted to cause damage we wouldn't certainly wait for the day we're boarding a plane as a passenger.
