Cry me a river. Anyone can go to these other sites if they want. If Google is the best, no one cares. I use Google because all those services are integrated. There is no monopoly on search. People are confusing monopoly with everyone choosing to use Google. It cannot be a detriment if most people are choosing to visit Google.

It is odd about the good results on DuckDuck since they are supposedly from Bing. Bing is trash, but somehow DuckDuckGo works? What is going on here? Typical Microsoft blunder? Watch the Duck eclipse Bing.

I hate tailored search results. This My World stuff should be off to the side or distinctly segregated at the top. I have found myself switching to private mode just to search. It changes the results dramatically. The tailored ads are especially annoying. I visited liquidweb several weeks ago JUST to check them out and now all of my ads are liquidweb. I have never seen a tailored ad I wanted to see or was interested in. I have had common users comment that tailored ads creep them out.

Yes, but google is a monopoly because people fucking navigate under their own fucking free will to their website and run a search. Why? Because THEY FUCKING WANT TO RUN THEIR SEARCH ON GOOGLE!! ZOMG! Do they want Bing? No. Do they want Alta Vista? No. Do they want Dogpile? No. Let's stop pretending this is AT&T or Microsoft where everyone got locked in by chance and they no longer have a choice. A lot of established businesses are upset because Google ganked their industry due to their superior innovation. Notice the attack on Google while all kinds of assholes run rough shod over other aspects of our lives. Who's beating down Verizon's door? Who's kicking in teeth on Wall Street? Where is the big investigatory hoopla aimed at Congress? Let Google dominate the world of search information and ads. Out of the regular people in the world who is it going to hurt? Hell, Google is handing the average Joe a piece of the advertising world cake. I make money serving a couple measly Google ads on my website. Years ago the money I make would have landed in the coffers of a multinational publishing conglomerate. You people and your Google bashing suck dick. STFU!

Welcome to bureaucratic education. It is a machine that serves itself and requires a uniform procedure for everything so it can track what is going on. Everything become regimented so it can be filed and tracked. Long ago the filing and tracking became the priority. There is no mechanism that can instill understanding efficiently and still suck in a large amount of paying students.
