This story is being tended by Vice...which is a biased leftist/humanitarian (definitely Hillary voters) journalism community. They strive to be fair and their reporting is so far unblemished.

That view point used to be the bedrock of the republican party and indeed very popular..so popular that people are willing to kill and die to protect it. Are you willing to fight and die for the nanny state?

  5. Yeah....and when you run into bullshit and politics that gum up the works you can just kick back and log hours until the W2s stop fighting. It is always funny to see managers batting down the flames when you are logging hours and can't get anything done because the FTEs can't get thier head out of thier ass.

  6. Speaking of slavery standards. It was mentioned the other day that Amazon caps wages at $176k per year. It hit me today, they probably do that to prevent poaching...as a way of fixing wages. Do other big tech companies have caps?

I remember a kerfuffle where the big tech companies were colluding at one point..is it possible that they skirted the law by all posting maximum salary caps?

  9. You can easily argue that a 30 yr mortgage is not a sensible choice. I often wonder why I can buy a $80k truck and pay it off in seven years at $1000 a month but that type of loan is not available for real estate. They smack you with 100k in interest and amortize that in with the price of the home (80,000 + 100,000) over 360 payments or whatever. Perhaps that simple loan is available? Why aren't people using it?

  10. Different levels of poverty yield different results. Not sure how someone adjusted for this non-tangible, at best elusive, factor. Also, cultural differences may not be attributable to race. No way to isolate that either.

  19. What? The CIA got caught red handed padding fake evidence for WMD to help lead us to the Iraq war. As I pointed out, they keep committing crimes against humanity...the most recent of which warranted military tribunals and public executions.

  20. The documented proof came from the CIA. I know Vice is biased but everyone is. The best journalists to grace this country always leaned left and did not hide it. They were fair in that they did not skip the transgressions of the party that claimed to be aligned with thier views. They were real leftists who saw how corporatism was on the rise and the effect it had and has on the world. Disclaimer: I lean right because I HATE being told how to live and I hate social propaganda spread by communists and radicals who penetrated and destroyed the democratic party and subsequently paved a smooth road for a dictator.

"If I don't stick to it, they won't sell to me next time."

This has always bothered me. Why should someone be dictating who they sell to if you are operating in a market. Don't bother with "free" market since a market is just a place everyone can go and pay the same posted price. I see the same problems with discounting volume for one retailer. If a company sells to Wal-Mart cheaper than they sell to me then it usually just leads to a cabal. Overall, aside from logistics, the volume is the same and Wal-Marts' participation should lower the price for me as well. If I have to pay a higher price then I just won't bother--lowering manufacturer volume. This would follow the theory of supply and demand and it would help ensure that Wal-Mart provides the same level of service as a small retailer.
