Have they fixed the memory leak issues yet?
Nothing will ever make me switch from Opera, but I am curious about firefox since it's the one i tend to recomend (apparently Opera is too different for people)
except that the people being sued don't know much about computers. if i asked anyone in my family what files they are sharing online, they'd probably say none. however, they are sharing all the folders they have in limewire without realizing it.
it's also not like the GP's example because no where are these people charging and i'm sure most are unaware they are even sharing their files.
Disabled the UAC. That's there so stupid people might try and prevent spyware from installing. Though they are more likely to just allow anything to run. I don't like the feature, but I do understand why it's their. I just disabled it. I have no issues with Vista. Everything runs fine for me.
Actually, I never have an issue with my windows machines. They do what I want and don't crash. I don't get viruses because I'm not an idiot. I upgrade quite a bit, so I tend to not have any hardware failure. It's also my job to help people with PC problems. I find that it's usually the users fault.
Macs can't game and I can do more on a PC than any Mac could ever do. I have all sorts of open source software I can play with and anything I want to do I can find something for it. There is no reason to switch to anything Mac. If I wanted something new I'd switch my main desktop to Linux, or just dual-boot, but I see no reason to go to Apple. They have nothing to convince me that they are anything except liars in their comercials. I'm not paying for a pretty version of Unix that's restricted.
I also hate Apple support, I think they are terrible.
I'm not going to debate, because it's pointless to start a flame war. I just don't like how the whole "Macs are perfect" thing is preached to me all the time. Obviously it isn't ture, but no OS is perfect. That being said, who the hell cares which one you prefer. I use windows (and linux on a spare box) because I game and have no use for a mac and think they are overpriced. However, if you choose to use one, go a head.
It's true, at my store I have to tell the customer service people to CHECK every box. None of them open shrink-wrapped stuff to check it, even though it's store policy. Mind you, we take back a ton of shit we shouldn't because our managers are lame. Like software, even though it's illegal.
Valve isn't likely to go out business. What data can they lose? Cut you off of what? You can make a backup of the game and burn it to C/DVD. If they wanted to no longer support it or went out of business they would give you a way to keep playing.
Hacked account? You just need to prove it was your account, whether that be a scan of the product key or billing details. Also, don't be an idiot and you won't get hacked.
Steam makes gaming so much easier. It has it's problems but I'd rather pay USD for games, since going to store to buy games in Canada will costs you $10 more. I don't need CDs or Keys with me, just download the game. Make re-installing games easy, double click and let it download and your set.
Okay, well let's factor in how much play time Portal will be. 5-6 Hours for the normal game and how many hours do you think once people start making their own levels? When someone makes a multiplayer Mod? TF2, I've already played it for about 30 Hours since it's release.
I don't know why everyone is so upset that Valve is putting 2 extra games in a bundle that's ALREADY worth more than the price it's selling for just because most people already own them. It doesn't matter, you are saving money anyways. STOP bitching or just buy the games seperatly and pay more.
"The Orange Box features three highly-awaited new games by Valve: Half-Life® 2: Episode Two, the second installment in the Half-Life 2 episodic trilogy; Team Fortress® 2, the sequel to the game that put class-based, multiplayer team warfare on the map; and Portal, the game that blends puzzles, first person action, and adventure gaming to produce an experience like no other.
To bring gamers up to date with the Half-Life 2 universe, The Orange Box also includes Half-Life 2, the best-selling and highest-rated action game series of all time, and the episodic debut Half-Life® 2: Episode One."
As I've stated on here several times. You are paying for portal, tf2 and ep2. They added hl2 and ep1 in as freebies. Even if you are "buying games you already own." What does it matter? You are getting a deal on the 3 games that retail for $80 seperatly. YOU ARE NOT PAYING ANYTHING EXTRA FOR HL2 & EP1.
They've released details saying theres about 50 maps or so. The expected gameplay is 5-6 hours. But it has great mod and community made map potential, so it will be worth it anyways.
They also did a great job on balancing classes. Removed grenades, so that the game isn't just a grenade fest. You actually have to work together to win.
These games were just included in the package. You are paying for TF2, Portal and Ep2. $45 is reasonable for these 3 games. Stop whining, you are not forced to buy games you already own again. If you think it's a better deal, buy all 3 games by themselfs.
It's the same in Canada. It looks like it's about $60 to buy it here, or I can buy it on steam for $45, since USD = CAD right now.
They really need to fix that, we have an issue with our books, since the price is still listed on books as USD = $14.99 || CAD = $19.99, when our dollar is the same.
These games were thrown in to the Orange Box. You were never paying for them in the first place. You are paying for TF2, Portal and Ep2. It's more than reasonable price considering most new games cost that much by themselfs. Though if you are so upset over it, buy them all seperatly....
I was waiting for someone else to point this out. At first I was very confused.

are you suprised though. They all seem to have this approach.
What I can't understand is why the iPhone? There are so many better phones that can do more, I don't get what the appeal is.
This is the biggest reason to it.
Only for australians?! :(.
I want a free shirt
Canadas never get anything.
Also, vista isn't so bad.
Don't like it, then don't use it.
Bitching about it isn't going to make it go away.
And for the non-pirates? Will they have to pay too? I'd rather support artist directly then let randoms choose who the money goes to.
Yeah we've all learned by now that the RIAA never has much evidance in cases.
They know most people can't afford to go to court and will just pay up.
Troll much?
You need admin access to exploit the system with this. If you don't like windows then don't use it.

You beat me to it.

Obviously you've never played Half-Life if you don't think it has a story.

I assume that if you purchased online, you'd just need to provide them with payment details.
Also, don't get your account stolen.....

Sorry for lack of formating, I picked html instead of plain text.

YOU ARE NOT FORCED TO BUY IT AGAIN.

It's not anything like counter-strike....
It's fairly different from TFC, but counter-strike? I'd like to know what version of counter-strike this guy is playing...
