  1. 100k? on Dutch Unveil Robot Gas Station Attendant · · Score: 1

I thoroughly enjoy reading articles about Dutch, gas filling robots. Especially at such a low cost, only 100k. I wonder how much money, and no doubt time, was invested into this project, yet we can't seem to develop a mainstream alternative fuel?! What the fuck people. Not to mention, US-LHC budget being cut and experiments that find the basic building blocks of the universe have to be shut down 3 months early, while the dutch get high on fumes. I 3 2008

Ask yourself, what is a "violent video game"? To many GTA is considered one that cross many borders, whether it be hiring prostitutes or out running cops, the game is without question "violent" to most. The more pressing concern is the ammount of video game players that will agree that it is not violent at all. This can easily be gaged by asking someone on a scale of 1-10 how violent they think the game is, the opinions of the player and the observer vary wildly. The gamer seems to always keep in mind the boundaries of reality. Nonetheless, someone brought up in an environment where video games are the babysitter or second parent, must me taken into account. These kids may have a problem drawing the line of reality, and here lies the problem. One could even consider the kid mentally unstable for society, but who is to blame; the video games, or the parents?

  7. I beleive on The Obesity Epidemic — Is Medicine Scientific? · · Score: 1

The medical community has used a scientific methodology to diagnose patients in the past thousand years. You can find old journals of doctors using a basic scientific approach to diagnose. I believe technology, and money, have spoiled this for the medical community. A doctor no longer has the attitude to properly document specific problems with patients. ON A DAILY BASIS, thousands of people are under diagnosed because of waiting times and per capita salaries. The find something with similar characteristics, and prescribe antibiotics. In an HMO structure, it costs nothing to a doctor to prescribes drugs, but will cost you an arm to forward that patient to the appropriate specialist who may properly diagnose. It's sad, the amount of unidentified diseases ( i understand there are a lot ) brought infront of a doctors and then are pushed through the revolving door.

As a voter and taxpayer, I am sick of seeing my government make moral choices that i would scorn a 4th grader for (no offense, any 4th graders reading this). The corruption of this country seems to run deeper every year, and being someone whose only twenty it worries me. The biggest problem I sense the future holds is the ever growing numbing sensation when news like this is presented. More and more people seem to become desensitized. A 'now this, what's next?' taste lingers in the back of my mouth, and I await the news of more scandals uncovered. What don't I know about. The next logical question you ask yourself may be, 'how can we prevent further decay of our beloved country'. Good question America.
