i think that was trying to express the concept that another method of communication might not involve syntax or grammar or sentence structures as such, but instead communicates by using a dictionary of stored cultural memories. Maybe the translator had difficulties because it tried to analyze things into syntax structures first, or...

I didn't think the concept was particularly well-thought-out, but it was sort of entertaining...

    My theory:

It would be simpler (quicker, less stressful, less expensive...) to deal with why terrorists start to want to suicide bomb in the first place.

I know that I feel inequalities and injustice in our society, and I would like society to deal with my complaints in a constructive, how-can-we-best-fix-this manner.

Personally I think the people in charge are more interested in the beating-the-chest, pissing contest aspects of the game of war than in really doing what is best for the greatest number of people.

Of course our leaders' power comes from us, the people.

If we really wanted to deal with terrorism effectively, some leader-type would pick up on it and gain popular support.

Both bandwidth and table-rendering speed cause this sort of thing to really stop scaling for larger datasets. It also uses a TON of memory, because the (w3c) DOM is a bit heavy, and with this method IE retains everything in a DOM, whether you like it or not.

With faster hardware/vendor software optimizations then this would be the way to go? (Assuming ie of course...)

so how does the internet fit into this? my theory (ok I just came up with this this second) is that advertising will decrease in effectiveness because word-of-mouth will sell your product more efficiently.

If I want to buy something, I would like to get opinions of others about it. (I'll take my chances on weeding out the honest opinions from the lies and [potentially] company-sponsored posts.)

Advertising probably still would have a place in making me aware of something I might need or might make life more convenient for me. But if the ad lied, word of mouth would expose the lie...

And if content-providers didn't have to spend so much on marketing/advertising, prices would go down...
