There is a big fix for DHTML performance that, while working well, is too big a risk this close to 1.0 (tracking bug #21762) so is currently targeted at 1.0.1.
I admit that I know next to nothing about Marx, but perhaps a mental substitution of "Shareholders" with "Stakeholders" might help. Rather than identifying investors, this includes anyone with an interest in, or is affected by the organisation in question.
Or maybe this isn't at all relevant - I've been meaning to read some Marx, but have never got around to it...
Worth bearing in mind is keeping evidence that you tried in good faith to pay all the right people, in case someone suddenly realises that you've been getting a free ride - and demand x months of back payments...

I believe that most (if not all) of the downsides of globalisation stem for the way that most big corporations take no responsibility for the environment and human welfare. Their remit is to maximise shareholder value, and that's what they do.
IMHO, governments should bring the corporations back to an ecologically and sociological responsible position through regulation. This way their duties to the shareholders would be leveled with duties to the environment and society.
I'm not against commerce and the synergies available in large companies, but there must be a way to get those large companies to help distribute the benefits to _all_ the stakeholders - rather than just the senior execs and major shareholders.

Is this not, at least in part, a symptom of complexity. I agree that mobiles (or anything else) shouldn't hang, but as more and more functionality is added, it'll happen...
The current and last version of HTML is 4.01. HTML is no longer being developed, having been superceeded by XHTML, based upon XML. These are (two of) the standards mozilla team is working to, and future standards will build upon them.
Moz does use its own extensions to the standards, and features of draft standards, but has implemented them in a manner that states them clearly as mozilla (a "moz-" prefix I think).
These extensions are not being encouraged as "wow look at this great feature" but developed to fulfill needs such as assisting the themes capability, or because a developer is particularly interested in it. The advance work is not enabled in all builds, but will give an advantage when the standard is reccommended (complete).
The point of mozillas approach to standards is to get the existing standards working fully and correctly, anything else is a bonus.
Perhaps the Commercialisation of the web will only be halted by those that can be bothered to look beyond the "easy", spoon-fed existence that most people seem to accept.
A significant proportion of people can't be bothered to vote for the government that will (theoreticaly) serve them - peoples attitudes need to change if the internet is to be "saved" from commercialisation.
I just got a DSC505 I it is trés cool. The delay between taking one photo and being able to take another is, for 1600*1200 about 4secs. I didn't do extensive tests, but that's about right
This guy seems to acknowlege that the lawyers can twist anything to mean anything -
"I have been quite visible in helping to block the weakening of our patent system. I am sure that some clever justice department lawyer could find a way to claim that I benefited somehow from helping inventors, even though I did it for free."
- But doesn't seem to realise that the lawyers are doing worse under the umbrella of the outdated system.
Admittedly I don't know anything about this bill (UK bod), but plainly something in the system needs changing.
Foolishly, I'm still stunned that people can avoid reality so effectively.
hey, give it a coupla generations and we'll all have them. I don't believe that the majority of the public cares about the big brother thing to the extent that they'll not use something that will save the tremendous effort of remembering some passwords, or whatever authenitcation systems digital angel is to replace.

Just curious but why, if your friend flashed, was it a big deal about the pics being on the web?
Hey, you forget - surely the videophone is due for a mainstream resurface. Everyone could stream video of the side of their face when calling.
