And you would be correct to, sir. Although it's possible the poster is confusing two different impacts, as I vaguely remember something like he mentioned -- it may be an invented memory, however, as I can't recall where I heard it.
> Wouldn't it be much simpler just to make arrangements for your safe transportation home
But if I can get myself home safely after drinking a pint, who the hell are you to say that I can't? (Please don't take offense, I mean "you" in a very general sense). I'm not apologizing for drunk drivers, but if they haven't done anything "morally wrong" (excluding, of course, knowing that if they were slobbering drunk they are putting others at risk when they absolutely should NOT be driving) why should they suffer repercussions? Because some asshole that I've never met wears a suit and said so.
If someone is driving drunk and kills a family, they should be just as liable as a sober person who kills a family while driving. Would the alcohol consumption play a role? Almost undoubtedly, but if I'm driving on a road that has no traffic on it, the only person remotely at risk is myself. If I die, who cares? Well, no one would care in the slightest, but if they did, it's not because I was drunk, but because no one likes me... I wonder why...
Why, no, I'm not an English major. And I was rejected from the debate team five times (not really) because I can't make a very coherent argument. Maybe this is due to the fact that I don't see every issue as one side vs. the other, but as an issue with many facets.
Someone is offering you money. At the VERY least you can use it as a lever for a pay raise. If they refuse the raise, then you have every reason to leave them in the dirt.
I'm not a teen, there aren't really any night clubs, and people don't generally walk up to a stranger offering to sell drugs in West Virginia. Except Crack, which I'm not touching. Oh well, I guess if it's harder to find, it makes it more fulfilling in the end.
> The only real gift, is something you spent some time and thought on
And you seriously think that being in a "real" store means better gifts? Why, because there's less selection so you have to decide which product they offer is least crappy? There are more choices when you order something, and PLENTY of really cool items that gannot be bought in most stores.
While the rest of us shit in a bigger hole in the floor, built into an immobile chair and we eat our cattle... and chickens and pigs... In the "grand scheme," we're not that much different, we just like to think we are.
DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH? (I figured he'd understand better if only I spoke louder) Have you ever taken an English course? You would have been better off writing that in your native tongue & Babelfishing it to English, as that entire post made about 5% sense. (although "5% sense" makes no sense at all)
Judging from the quality (or lack thereof), It was initially written in German, translated to Spanish, then Hungarian, then moron, on to Swahili then to English. And the grammar was bad even in German.
> This is why the world thinks so badly of Americans.
Because we respond in the same manner we are attacked? That's why America thinks so badly of Snotty Europeans (not all of them, just the uppity double-standard jerks, like you).
> > individuals are smart, people as a whole are stupid > I can accept that.
Why, because it makes no sense? I've heard people say things like that before, yet it seems to defy logic.
It's akin to "an ant lacks any semblance of intelligence whatsoever, but a colony of ants? They are fucking brilliant! (watch them multiply 10x10 matrices with a flick of the wrist!)" Nope, doesn't compute.
While I haven't had any personal experience with them, a friend of mine received a call from them while a Sophomore in college. They said they had openings they could offer him. When he explained that he wouldn't graduate for 2 years, they tried like hell to get him to drop out of college to go work! While I don't doubt he was more than adequately skilled to do the work, that doesn't seem like it would be in his best interests, although the company hiring might not mind, since they could pay him a lot less.
Yes, rolling blackouts are the only reason for the recall. Look, I'm not going to claim that Republicans have done anything good in this situation, but not all of the blame sits with them. Gray Davis was reelected, correct? That means he's had at least 6 years. Well, how come he didn't try to fix this "Republican mess?" Because he either didn't see it, he didn't thnk it was a mess, or he didn't care. Any way, he is partially to blame for negligence at the minimum.
> I call bullshit.

> one covers almost ALL OF INDIA
Excuse me for not having a globe handy (and not memorizing perfect continental geography), but any idea what is exactly opposite India?
> So send the press an anonymous letter, genius.
I'm surprised that one A.C. had to point this out to another A.C.

Psh, I wish I could get drugs whenever I wanted...

Oooooh... I was wondering what the hell Nortel had to do with Linux.

Santa Graphics Operation. Short graphic designers at the north pole? I wonder who they're suing.

Nope, but one you can trust sure is. Is thrusting similar to throttling? In that case, good idea.
> All recruiters are not clueless.
I'm going to argue what is probably just a misstatement.
I think the correct phrasing is "Not all recruiters are clueless," as I've seen plenty who are...
> Glad to see your headhunter got you that job as slashdot spellchecker.
:-)
Almost word-for-word what I was thinking
> oh, wait. I get it. Shit.
Even funnier because it wasn't incorrect to begin with...

Most spiders, actually, are great debuggers. Do you think they make webs because they look cool?

Too bad it wasn't the poster...

The last time we tried to suspend the Armada, all our ships sank.

I have a Dell C610 laptop which has no problems like the one mentioned.
