    Refurbished is far from worthless. They just can't sell it as new. Many refurbished items effectively are new, having been returned for reasons not related to functionality, many have just had minor repairs or parts or modules replaced.

    Yep. Sometimes waiting on an external service is more trouble (and sometimes money) than it's worth.

    Ideally you would be using encryption on top of this to which only you and the party at the other end had the keys. This would mean not using the phone features of the phone.

    I'm not sure it's possible but ideally you could also block any non-encrypted and targetted connections from the phone also to prevent leakage of private data. This would pretty much disable it as a general internet access device though.

    Interesting. The immediate question in my mind is can our regular phones be made to detect these interceptor towers and how is he doing so? How does he know that these are not micro-cells that have been added to increase capacity (not that it might be possible to tell the difference).

    Hence the use of the words "backdoor" and "subversion". The 10th clearly lays out the intent for the distribution of powers, the 16th allows the collection of funds, the intent apparently being for the *running* of the federal government.

    It authorizes the taxation, not using the funds to strongarm states into enacting laws the the federal government are not empowered to.

    Fine. But the fed shouldn't be taking that money from states' residents in the first place. It's subversion of the constitution by the backdoor and should be stopped.

    The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

    More federal intrusion into state matters? I'm in favor of the idea but Washington should f*** right off. They are welcome to introduce it for federal law enforcement, of course.

    Man, I'd almost forgotten about that but you're right. I'd almost filled my capacity when that happened and got in a pickle with my storage needs. I need to make sure I have some spare capacity to grow into.

    If it were just about being good software, Lotus, Wordperfect and others would still be around. Make no mistake, if Linux were a regular closed software vendor, it would have become a vague memory long ago.

    My understanding was that the current theory is that it was the move to an agrarian diet that brought about a more active lifestyle and that hunter gatherers would have led a more bursty lifestyle with short periods of food gathering followed by periods of rest (you don't exercise just for the sake of it when you're trying to survive). More active than your average cube dweller for sure but certainly not "all the time"
