Anarchism doesn't preclude voluntary cooperation (just the opposite).
Hanging around the Bitcoin community, I see people of all stripes. It doesn't take much to be against what the government is doing to the money in your pocket (inflating all value out of it) to take an opposing stand to it, whatever side of the aisle (or elsewhere) you find yourself.
I had a lifetime subscription but when digital came in, they provided no upgrade path making the lifetime subscription completely useless. Mythtv is more than adequate and makes it easy to play other videos (Presumably Tivo has this by now). Also handy to use for other Linux functions from time to time.
Yeah. When everyone is dirt poor and dying of a few dozen currently solved affliction, there will be much less opportunity for concentration of wealth. But you'll still be hating the dude who has shoes while you're coughing blood all over your bare feet.
Newschannel 5 has a service you can subscribe to where they will send you email/text and call your phone when there are severe weather conditions. Unfortunately, it was not localized and they would send out multiple notifications. Receiving a call at 3am, 4am and 5am for a potential tornado that's happening 600 miles away... We didn't stay subscribed long.
That said, my current smartphone has alerts. They haven't been too annoying (though the Amber alerts have been pointless)
Also largely useless. Many of us no longer watch live TV anyway. Receiving a warning about something that happened three days ago is not particularly helpful.
No, there is (probably) not a guy who is tracking you personally. But if/when they decide you're a "person of interest", for whatever reason, they can go digging.
And the supermarket thing doesn't bother me myself but it could result in some embarrassing and/or problematic invasions of privacy if implemented carelessly
Sure. And one thing that got me into Linux was that it was NOT windows 3.1. That didn't mean that braindead GUI decisions didn't continually get integrated over the years. At least there are (real) choices with Linux.
They'll all just end up copying Windows eventually anyway. There was some really interesting desktop development going on back in the late 90s (and I assume several of those projects are still going) but the tendency has appeared to be to, for the most part, stay with the crowd and suck in Microsoft GUI elements (both good and bad). The pressure to continue doing so, even in the face of the awful Windows 8 will be immense and likely impossible to resist for the KDE and Gnome guys.
To be fair, there are people who like big cities and I can't fault them at all. There's quite a lot to like about them and I don't find most of the problems quite as problematic as some others. But I know I'm much happier with more space and less people around me.
No one posted this yet?
Tax his land, tax his wage,
Tax his bed in which he lays.
Tax his tractor, tax his mule,
Teach him taxes is the rule.
Tax his cow, tax his goat,
Tax his pants, tax his coat.
Tax his ties, tax his shirts,
Tax his work, tax his dirt.
Tax his chew, tax his smoke,
Teach him taxes are no joke.
Tax his car, tax his grass,
Tax the roads he must pass.
Tax his food, tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his sodas, tax his beers,
If he cries, tax his tears.
Tax his bills, tax his gas,
Tax his notes, tax his cash.
Tax him good and let him know
That after taxes, he has no dough.
If he hollers, tax him more,
Tax him until he's good and sore.
Tax his coffin, tax his grave,
Tax the sod in which he lays.
Put these words upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me to my doom!"
And when he's gone, we won't relax,
We'll still be after the inheritance tax.

FWIW, mythmote for Android works pretty well.

Touche
Maybe use cages to form it into a giant floating island. Then sell it to Larry Ellison.
Still have one, still gets played.
She's more about the visual than the audio anyway.
Large amounts of floating material in the ocean miles from land? Surely someone can find a way to turn a profit from that.

Summary makes no sense. Does anybody proofread these things?
Hahah, just kidding. Course they don't.
As someone said above, they seem to have forgotten what the relationship between the producer and consumer is supposed to be about.
Hmm... Interesting idea for an app there...

You'd be happier if you read what people wrote rather than what you'd like to think they wrote.
Ironically, if they eliminated all the bullshit that leads to that kind of mistake, we'd probably all be paying less taxes.
Way to stereotype homosexuals.
Will it come with tumbleweeds like the Apple section?

Surely they would use a Random scheduler?
Though a left-wing university would certainly use some other Al-Gore-ithm

Do you find you often get peoples' voicemail?
