> BSD has a MUCH more in set base of users and administrators and servers. can you explain to me what *bsd has that gnu/linux doesnt ?. and please dont give me that "openBSD is much more secure" crap because thats not true. system is as secure as admin wants it to be. so if you have competent admin your system is going to be secure no matter if you are using gnu/linux , irix or openBSD. and if you have crappy admin your system is going to be insecure no matter if you are using openBSD, gnu/linux or SuperSecureFlavourOfBSD.
iss has already russian build parts on it + that russians and americans are not only ones contributing to ISS. ESA (14 european countries + canada) is also participating.
>I refuse to discuss Russian history with a person that doesn't know why
so you wont discuss with me because i prooved to you that ussr did indeed harm its own citizens...
>The word "GULAG" has no plural i am not native english speaker so thats why my english may be fucked up (bosnian/croatian/serbian is my native language)... anyway gulag are nothing else than work camps for soviet ppl that didnt share same opinion as stalin did
> Soviet Union never used military force against its own people
so how about all those millions ppl that were sent to gulags in siberia... how about whole chechen population being sent to siberia by stalin in 1940-ies ?
> I however talk about messing with other countries -- something that USSR did rarely...
lets see, ussr was about to invade yugoslavia in 1948 after yugoslavian communists refused to join warsaw pact and allow soviet troops on yugoslavian ground. it invaded hungary in 1956, chechoslowakia in 1967(?), finland was invaded in the begining of 1900 century, baltic states were occupied by the russians at the end of ww2. soviet forces also helped establish n. korea as a state, its known fact that soviet fighters/bombers fought on n. korean side... then we have all those communist states in europe who only became communist states because they had bunch of soviet troops in their country and were more or less occupied by russians and forced to become communist countries.
try to get your facts straight before you start trolling around....
your link is broken:(, but i'll try to find it later.
anyway after reading kernel traffic for more than 3-4 months now i have hard time believing that linus will include reiserFS into 2.4:( (quote from latest kerneltraffic "There is no need to delay reiserfs integration into 2.4 to accomplish a journaling API in 2.5." - Hans Reiser) it seems to me that lots of kernel developers have some kind of animosity towards reiserFS
you might want to check this article from latest kerneltraffic its about standardizing journalling filesystem.
i believe that udf support is added to 2.4. i dont believe that any journaling system (xfs/jfs/ext3/reiserfs) will make it into 2.4 but you can alway patch you kernel with reiserFS patch and get (imo) stable and fast journaling system.:)
there is a program called GYVE ("the GNU Yellow Vector Editor) you can find it on http://www.se.gnu.org/software/gyve/gyve.html
i havent tryed it but it seems as its what you have been looking for. description on that url says:
GYVE is a vector-based drawing program in the spirit of Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. The goal of GYVE is an extensible drawing editor for designers.
its not just embedded stuff in.docs that get fucked up when you try to read them in wordperfect/staroffice, even simple formating of the text gets screwed up from time to time.
>But if your WP is not equipped to read Excel wordperfect suite has support for excel files but still excel graphs embeded into.doc's get screwed.
>All of the specifications and interfaces for this is published there is a lots of documentation on.doc's but there are no real specs for.doc's. there is a huge difference between specifications and documentation.
hmm corels wordprocessor (wordperfect) wont read.doc's perfectly. sun's staroffice is even worse on importing.doc's.
they are good at importing simple.doc files (.doc's mainly consisting of text) but are pretty bad at importing.docs that have images, tables and other stuff...
hmm, when i notice some script kiddie portscanning my box, i usually email his isp from root@at.box.that.was.portscanned. this gives me more credibility when talking to the isp
you dont have to install wine to run wordperfect suite 2000, it is already compiled with winelib. btw both wordperfect and quatro pro are pretty stable and are great at importing.xls and.doc. only thing i dont like about them is that corel choosed not to supress wine error messages. if you start wp from a term you will have you term filled with bunch of error messages. something like this:
ever took a look at debian ?
there is a man page for every command + that there is a team writing man pages for programmes that are missing man pages
okay i missunderstood you :(
:)
bsd license being used much more may be the case in usa, but i dont believe its same here in europe (not sure about this...

my post got fucked up

get your facts straight next time, you always act like you know everything but usually half of the stuff you write is wrong
observe this guy is not bruce perens , there is a . after perens.
ppl like him should be moderated down because of the abuse of other ppl's name
its not just embedded stuff in .docs that get fucked up when you try to read them in wordperfect/staroffice, even simple formating of the text gets screwed up from time to time.
.doc's get screwed.
.doc's but there are no real specs for .doc's. there is a huge difference between specifications and documentation.

adding gfx drivers into the kernel is exactly what made windows as unstable as it is.
i hope that linus wont allow same thing happening in linux.
uuh there is no such thing as mp3 layer 4
there is mpeg-1 layer III aka mp3

something like this:

wine: X11 error occurred - ignoring
err:win32:_EnterSysLevel (0x8373fc0, level 1): Holding 0x83748b0, level 2. Expect deadlock!
wine: X11 error occurred - ignoring
hehe i would also like to get an alpha, problem is that x86 computers still have best performance/price ratio.
linux x86 != linux
linux is available for at least 9 platforms (ppc, x86, alpha, sparc, s390, m68k....)
linux alpha is second most used port of linux, right behind x86. i believe that alpha was first non x86 platform that linux was ported to.
get a clue
