First, we're basing this off a vague message from the person whose app was rejected.
Assuming it was about the lyrics, there are two likely causes. The first is simply that the person doing the reviewing made a mistake. The second is that it's fallout from the baby shaking app getting released and then having the wrath of the politically correct police come down on them. The problem is that the PC brigade is hyper-vocal and they are good at getting media outlets to carry their stories, thus they're really good at shitting on other people's parades. The people reviewing apps for release almost certainly are now erring on the side rejecting too many apps for content. You can buy The Downward Spiral from iTunes, so it's not as though Apple has a general policy against explicit lyrics.
Apple's initial reasons for rejections were generally either "this copies our own software" or "you need to fix this and this and this", which are both terms I find acceptable (even though the first one is undesirable, especially to me as a full-time iPhone developer). With the exception of the app that charged thousands of dollars simply to show a picture, Apple has not been about censoring content (and that was one probably more about the high rate of returns). I think it's going to be a while before Apple comes to a reasonable solution to the baby shaking fallout, although the PC police have definitely tainted the App Store forever.
Uh, They used this excuse to ban the South Park Studios Application to view clipped content way before NIN and baby shaker
Here's the thing. Apple doesn't control all the hardware, I could build you a Mac Pro except with out one chip. There's the issue. When apple translated to X86 they opened themselves up for clones. All apple has to do is take out the code for the special chip and it would run on the same hardware anyone could buy
Please, before you open your mouth understand that not all homebrewers are pirates. We pay for our VC/WiiWare games (or just choose not to use the service). We just want to do MORE then what Nintendo is willing to do, like playing out of region games (Using Gecko Region Free) or other things as people write software, such as a POP3 email client, emulators, Doom, etc.
How likely are you to buy a VC title when you've already got the ROM file and an emulator running?
Same as how much I would, if I owned the original cart and the working system
Several celebrities came out in favour of the ammendment, stating that they were "excited, because their online content would now deliver all this new internet money". Other celebrities were not as elated about this bill, arguing that "You're not my buddy, guy". Your not my Guy, Friend
It has very deep and Matrix-like ideas (I believe Ghost came first).
Just an FYI for future reference, the manga was released between 1989-1991, and the trade made it's appearence in English in 1995. The first movie (which covers a small part of the storyline in the Manga, and is VERY different in both tone and style) came out in 1995.
The Matrix, if I'm not mistaken, came out in 1999. and if I remember right, Ghost in the Shell influenced The Matrix
The sad thing is that even with all this negative stuff being dragged into the light and Comcast being caught with their dick caught in the zipper, people still subscribe to this service. Obviously it's mostly due in part to the fact that in many places Comcast is all that is offered, but people who have a choice and still use Comcast....
tarred and feathered? My DSL Company won't provide me a stable line for P2P or even IRC, so I rather not deal with them
I had local DSL from two different Phone companies.
Both constantly disconnected and didn't know why, and i found out why, both used crappy cheep hardware.
so comcast is actually better because i haven't been disconnected one And hell i can use IRC now because with qwest i would be disconnected in 5 minutes
Here's where the funny thing about nintendo.
Very rare a game console company goes to you and ask to make a game for your console and name that game
Nintendo DID that for this game
Nintendo KNEW That this game was boarder line AO
Now NINTENDO BACKING out on the agreement.
Plus from reading previews the content you can buy at a major retailer it's called hostal or saw
Maybe you should do a little research
Also the Nintendo licensing was created not for approval of games but to prevent a atari 2600/ET Fiasco from happening or games over flowing the market by limiting a game companies release
