Move Family Guy and Futurama to Sunday nite, and watch your ratings SOAR. Show FG eps after simpsons on weekdays (there's enough of them for a month or 2), and see how many people watch.

Fox refuses to advertise The Family Guy, and they wonder why no one watches it.

The engineering structure of a hard drive would be more like an F16 flying over Oklahoma. To say the rocky mountains would imply that your platters had bumps and ridges in them, which i would hope they don't (I have 2 maxtor HDD's), and to say a 747 would imply that the read head is bulky and has little practical precision. An F-16 would be more accurate, being smaller and much more manuverable.

First, I'm guessing you meant quad-Xeon and not quad-Xenon, cause why would you want to have 4 instances of Xenon text editor running on your desktop, or 4 atoms of the element Xenon.

Second, there is the misnomer that Ultra-sparc boxen are rediculously expensive. It's just not true. The place where I work recently purchased a new shared solaris server - quad-proc Ultra2 4x300mhz w/ 1 Gig of ram and 2x18 gig scsi drives. It only set us back about $1500. That is NOT MUCH in the world of shared website hosting. Plus, it compiles things a lot faster than, say, our P4-1.5 Ghz, despite the 300 Mhz advantage.
High end hardware is doable, and most people don't need much, especially considering that a Sparc IPC (25-ish mhz w/ 24 megs of ram) runnig solaris 7 can host 200 web pages easily, and handle 3 million hits a month. Web serving is *not* difficult, and it doesn't take a lot of power, just a proc that can switch between processes quickly and efficiently. It's poorly-written CGI that takes power.

The only solution is to structure the network by using "super clients" or "servants" or "super nodes", call them what you want, the later is what KaZaa and Morphus have accomplished...

This is exactly the point. This is the only way to properly distribute querys, as anyone who has set up a multi-homed ISP knows. It works on the same principle as BGP routing, i.e. there are routers (super-nodes, or whatever) that have a specific number (an ASN - or in P2P, the supernode address) but there are thousands of computers (casual modem users - p2p) on the internet that these routers have information about. If BGP routing worked this way, nothing would go anywhere. However, by having several nodes giving out information on who has what and how to get it, while the majority of users just download and give out their own info, not pass along info of others, things work much smoother. And with a correct implementation, everyone could have a route to everyone's file list at a minimal bandwidth useage.
