It is just one guy who is being over cautious and denying the apps. There's a few instances of this person at Apple denying perfectly legitimate apps. Normally they will go through and review the decision, and allow it into their store.
I think this ad was just meant to be an introduction to the characters. They will release more of them, probably more to the point, and *I'm hoping* funnier.
It didn't really strike me as being imaginative though, and it did leave me a little bemused as to what it was about. I prefer the Apple ones personally ; )
This is rubbish. Apple/Dell/HP etc, have done the right thing. They have bought in SSD to their product line, at a premium, but they are selling. The more they sell, the more they make, the less they cost. If no-one uses it, it won't sell and they won't make as much, so manufacturing costs go up. Its simple supply and demand. And the fact is that people are buying SSD, and it is a relevant technology.
It makes sense to bring it into the products lines of today for these reasons. Early adoption brings quicker changes in technology, and brings more money into new technologies to help them develop quicker.
Thats my slightly intoxicated views on this subject, without reading the article. : )
Remember, your taxes paid for the roads so we can also get trucks to the supermarkets so you can get your *insert luxury food here*.
Its your choice on what to do with those roads, but if you do something that breaks the law, then you're liable for your actions.
Absolutely. It has happened in NZ, where Telecom decided it made a mistake and stopped offering their unlimited plan. But they still allowed the current users to make use of the plan until their year "contract" was up.
The fact is that they have all to gain, and nothing to lose. If they lose, they can just apply for bankruptcy and start up another business. No big issue if its a publicly listed company.
I really hope Psystar wins this one. Apple (and they aren't the only one, just the subject on hand at the moment) really needs to get told where to stick their monopolistic behavior. If you release a product to the market, then you have no business telling people what they can and can't do with it once they've bought it.
How is Apple monopolistic? Is Microsoft & Linux not competition? Apple only owns 8% of the market, hardly monopolistic.. They can charge whatever they like if people pay for it. And if you don't like that, go buy a Dell.
Where is Ballmer getting any hope from? I honestly don't see how he thinks that it is good. He's got less than 50% Vista sales on new machines, when that operating system has been out for over a year, and XP is nearly completely unsupported! If I were him I'd be throwing chairs left, right and center.
Hold on.. Isn't your government also trying to implement a "three strikes and you're out" P2P regime? I don't quite understand why they are now trying to stop ISPs throttling BT traffic. Or am I mistaken?

Whoops, modded you as Redundant. In fact it is one of the most insightful posts I've seen in a long time.
ZFS might be a viable option
Uhhh, I'm guessing that my UnRaid will be needing a new filesystem pretty soon then!
Thats quite hot. Now I know why it needs one ;) I agree, Atom will be a great platform for ultra-portables. Cheers!
Does the EEE have any fans? I think thats a true consumer laptop for many people.

You could either run the M$ or Linux equivalents, or buy the Mac if that does what you need it to do.
You think Canada is getting shafted... Checkout the plans in NZ.

What happens when they graze at the north pole..? Do they stand up on end?
If information is freely flying through the air, without encryption, does that mean he is doing something wrong?
But will it run Linux? I'm serious. I'd be afraid to live inside that "machine" if it ran Windows. I'd rather live in a cave.
*Patent granted* In the distance, someone at IBM chuckles....
Giggidy Giggidy!
And what happens when you add salt to the water? There's a little more than just fresh water in that ice...

It's OK about the math, I use Google :)
200+ MPH? That's a quick bike.. Even my GSXR struggles to do this! What is is exactly?
