Last month I fired up Super Smash Bros. Melee on my Wii only to find out that my gamecube memory card was corrupt. For a game like that, the save file is irreplaceable. The game tracked tons of stats and has collectible trophies. Some trophies required hundreds of hours of playtime.
I also lost dozens of saved time trial records and ghosts from Mario Kart Double Dash. Compound this with the near impossibility of finding a large capacity gamecumbe memory card new and I'm in a crap situation. Every console I have will now be backed up in one way or another, whether it's via multiple memory cards or to PC.
I hope this doesn't mean it will be bundled into XP SP3, although it probably does. I was hoping for IE7, WMP11 and.NET 3.0 to be bundled into this long-awaited update to XP but now desktop search.... I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of constant indexing of my files and email just to make a search go faster.
What about adding Virtual devices? I use VMWare and a VPN client that add virtual network drivers. I use Daemon Tools that adds a virtual SCSI driver. If I keep using software like this, will I end up having to re-activate Vista somewhere down the line?
I am by no means an expert on the constitution or politics but everything I've read about the Patriot Act seems to go against what I was taught in school. This sounds like a first step back towards where this country was intended to be.
Could be slightly off topic but I had to sound off on this one...
While I appreciate USB's capability for backwards computability, I would much rather have a plug shaped in such a way that I didn't have to flip it over every time I try to plug it in. I don't know about you guys but this is one of the most annoying aspects of using my computer, and I run Windows!
This would also be a great time to make a universal "other side" of the cable, rather than having a different plug for every single USB device. I have a mini plug for my camera, a big square one for my printer, a 2.5 mm jack to charge my MP3 player, etc. All these cables make a mess. If all my devices could share one cable, I'd be much happier.
If the Automatic Updates service is disabled, you can't manually update Windows through the web site. This may be intentional on the part of Microsoft so they can initiate these back-door updates whenever they see fit. This also forces one to conclude that disabling automatic updates through the control panel does nothing.
Episode 143: The Abstinence 11/21/96
"George becomes smarter when he stops having sex, but for Elaine it has the opposite effect. Jerry is bumped at a junior high assembly gig. Kramer starts a smoking club." (http://www.seinfeld-fan.net/epguide_short_prt.php )
For some reason, everything can be related to a Seinfeld episode.
If I had a dime for every piece of pr0n I came across while fixing computers at work, I'd be a very rich man. The temptation to copy it is great but I try to keep myself honest... especially when I know others aren't watching.
How much energy can this possibly make? Am I the only person thinking this would make a great way to power the Wii Remote? The rumble (vibrations) sucks down batteries like no electronic device I've ever owned.
Even if the rumble couldn't do it, flailing around like an idiot when I'm playing Wii Sports should be able to generate something.
How long until I can play some crazy rhythm-based RTS with my guitar hero controller?
Does this mean we can really get that Side-Boob Hour late night show?

Yeah, I guess it's a lot harder to turn Endeavour into an ICBM than the Saturn V.

A deluxe digital drum set is $60.00 on Amazon.com. I cringe when I think of how much Rock Band will cost as a whole.
