I was using LILO for quite a while recently, as my newest PC has a terrible UEFI system and the Debian installer couldn't configure GRUB by itself. It served me well in the interim.
I'm a full time Linux user and admittedly a basher of windows, but I am generally quite impressed with windows 8. The tiled environment, though different, is something I could get used to. The problem is they've missed the point of it; when you still have to go to a traditional desktop to do pretty much anything, why bother?
They did the same thing with Command & Conquer 4, and what a resounding success that was. Bought it for less than a tenner not long after release, and due to the mandatory connection among other annoyances, I have still played it for less than one hour. This company is just superb at destroying excellent games.
Of course, it will only become worse when they completely drop support for these games like the many others; I guess you won't be able to play them at all?
What was wrong with Konqueror? It may not be the best web browser, but it's the best file manager I've ever used. Dolphin, however, is a load of crap, in my opinion.
For me it was mainly the small things. Numerous bugs in the interface (GNOME shutdown button would become distorted and stop working, KDE 4 was initally disastrous) drove me crazy. Then there's the way they seem determined to stick to the release schedule, ready or not. Running the regular apt-get update led more and more to application bugs.
Switched to Debian, no such problems. Now I'm not plagued by constant annoyances, and my OS problems are only ever significant.

I would consider Unreal Tournament 2004 a "killer" game for its time, but maybe the problem was it was available for other platforms.
No airing whatsoever in Ireland as far as I could see, including on Sky, which I would assume was probably the same situation in the UK.

The summary may have missed this, but Debian now provide a live CD image. To me, that's probably the biggest news for this release.

"The market watcher defines 'success rate' as the percentage of search queries that result in a visit to a website."
From that, I would assume Bing just makes the results a lot less clear.
Anyone played Command & Conquer 4? Disaster that ruined a great series. Requiring a constant connection for single player is idiotic.
It's a whole different country. Invest in a map.
Capcom announces bankruptcy.
This has been known for a very long time. Seriously?
I know and I have done so, but I don't see why the default is a lesser program.

Gran Turismo 5 hasn't been out even one year yet.
...is a great resource, if you only ever want to work with Cisco products.
"a craic group of lads from the University of Limerick"
Fixed.
Was the note about Geeknet really necessary? Anyone here that actually cares will already know.

...to shut up and get me my coffee.
Astronauts really know how to party, man.

I'm not trying to be funny; I really can't see why either of them deserve a peace prize.
Linus has certainly done more to deserve it than Obama.
...the games get considerably worse.
I overly think the word overly is the only overly used card.
