Nail meet head. Every mobile phone I've ever looked at on a carriers price has the full non-subsidized price listed, then the discounted "with contract" price. Nothing here sounds like it would stop anyone who had the cash from paying full price for a non-contract and therefore unlockable phone of any model.
The only problem with that is the Fracking carriers still charge the same price per month. I walk in, "buy" a phone for $50, then get charged $50 a month over a two year contract. (t-mo) If I walk in with a phone, I still pay $50 a month for the same service, and still have to get into a two contract! Why not take the shiny new phone?
Their seems to be profit in every layer, except for the customer (hotel) and the hotel guest, who is the one paying for it all in the end. I wonder how much the guests are suing for? I would certainly hope they all had tens of thousands of family heirloom jewels and a new alienware in there.

I just had a (clean & high quality & just out of warranty) PS fail, taking the MB, Processor and RAM out with it. Crap - Now all I can salvage are the drives and case, and maybe the Vid card, but since it's an old Titan Robella water cooled case, and since they won't support them any more, I'll probably dump that too.

Hardware like toy rovers, usable Space/Lunar surface suits, outposts, (Call them quick assembling emergency, self sufficient housing), All sorts of goodies) right down to the simple NASCAR style "Pay me and I'll give you a big sticker on the hardware!" We will indeed (Of course) sell samples, and seats to space, and in the outpost, etc...
Think about what America's Cup teams cost, or even NASCAR teams cost. This is certainly doable.
So, come by, donate some, and, for now, more importantly, come and volunteer.
I've managed to get on the web site now. It isn't a whiz-bang web site with all sorts of awesome web features, but it does the job. Their content is a little slim but I assume this project is in the early stages. It appears that they have partnered with in some way with the University of Western Ontario (Enrollment: 30,000+) and the Oakland Univeristy (Enrollment: 20,000+). Now we aren't talking Harvard here but we aren't talking University of Phoenix, either.
Yes, The project is new. We are at the stage where we are looking for volunteers to help.
And, just so you (well, all of the rest of you) know, Western has one of the best Planetary Sciences departments in Canada, and are the first node outside of the US in NASA's Lunar Research Network.
