I noticed that 7 World Trade is collapsed (We all saw that on TV) but 6 World Trade is only marked as 'In Danger of Collapse'. Since 6 is between 7 and the 2 towers (1 & 2 World Trade), how can this happen? Is 6 built like a bunker or what? Or was 7 WT flakey to begin with?

IBM Wants Linux

· Score: 1
Well, this is the feeling I get when I read articles like this. Why not *BSD? BSD is (supposedly) considered better server OS, and I assume that IBM is looking for a server OS. I think IBM's marketing droids are just jumbing on the Linux bandwagon, trying to show how hip-cool-trendy the Big Blue is...

I remember when BeOS was still on PPC only, ('95-6?) I could get quad (YES, QUAD!) PPC machine from UMAX while Apple was still selling overpriced, all-in-one-box systems. Those systems kicked ass! Did Apple build such a system? Nooo... they where too busy polishing their ivory tower, but I'm still waiting for such a beast... Just imagine where we would be if dual & quad CPU PPC trend would have cought on... *drool*
Note that the Recording Industry Association of Korea reports local companies lost $154 million in sales..
Why don't they just pay them, say, $1 million to sabotage the program, to make it useless, much easier and simpler than to take it to the court.
Sounds like a good investment to me...
I have been thinking this exact thought each time some new 'copy(right)-protection' scheme is announced. Joe User will be annoyed and frustrated, but Joe Pirate will always have resources to crack/circumwent the protection. This is what happens when you let laywers run amok.

Maybe they should have done this, put the server in a wall and seal it up, then try to find it. If I recall correctly, the anon server was hidden in some vast server room, but laywers (From CoS, among others) were able to shut it down, due to "copyright" infringement in '96.
It's stuff like this that makes me depressed...
505 HTTP Version Not Supported
The server does not support, or refuses to support, the HTTP protocol version that was used in the request message. The server is indicating that it is unable or unwilling to complete the request using the same major version as the client, as described in section 3.1, other than with this error message. The response SHOULD contain an entity describing why that version is not supported and what other protocols are supported by that server.
You sue the local Oracle support/dealer. If you have critical database and you NEED to get it up again (The Database that is) and your local Oracle support guy/dealer/whatever doesn't do his/hers job, well, I think he/she would be in a pile of shit! You would need an armageddon type event to ever haul Larry's ass in court, if that's what you mean;)
The University of Iceland has been doing this for years. It's the norm. The University has it's staff, but Comp. Sci. students run their equippment all by them self.

Instead of having useless features like FSAA, why not work on including better 2d image quality, remember the problem that NVIDIA is having with their digital->analog chips, crips, why not get some better quality parts! YES PLEASE! I got state of the art (at the time) NVidia Geforce something, but returned it after 1 week, could bare using this card in 2D. Got myself a Matrox G400 instead, slower 3D, rock solid 2D.
With optonial helium. Now that is fun, you get neat balloons with your order, and your sensitive product is floating in a space of helium. And you naturally put some advertising/slogans on the balloons. Your (Geeky) client would be crying with joy. (Actually, this is a good idea, now where do I file a patent?)

(No, not the Greg Bear story)
I'm just wandering, since we are hoping to colonize Mars someday, why not try to move it a bit closer to the sun, so it would be easier to terraform it?

...and why can't I play them on a multi-region player? If this is true, I'll not buy it. To me it would be defective disc.

And I thought you were speaking figurativelty (sp?). The developers vere like a cornered rat, and panicked and released the game too early. :>
That would give you a mighty high fine!
suit with green shirt and blue plastic tie.
That should get PHB attention. (If they get the joke, that's totally different matter)
Looks like it orginates from France, if you count the cities. Maybe I should go to my local building store for some tiles and join the newest fad...

The scary part is that this was moderated up to 5!!!

Larry Ellisson must be doing multiple backflips in his MIG, laughing is ass off!
Who-hoo! now I can finally drive more than 500M from my home. Wired cars are so passé!
m = milli = 1/1000
M = Mega = 1000x
So there!

JON Ragnarsson - used it since 1989 or something, tried a few hax0r names, but never liked them, they make you look stupid.
