The US already accepts different tax brackets, this is just another tax bracket at the low end, one where you get negative tax rather than zero tax as the lowest rate. The only other difference is that the IRS sends the "refund" check in 12 installments rather than one.
Only the poor or the mega rich would fall entirely into that bracket
I don't know the science, I believe the FDA. But I have to say that I stink after I have worked out, and Dove does not cut it. Dial gold soap seems far more effective, if I knew what it was about it that worked so well I would look for it in other products.
I'm sure that going back to medieval times you could find examples of people who were prevented from eating non-GMO foods and they died. So non-GMO foods have a long track record of being effective in keeping people from starving, an important medical benefit.
Part of the entertainment left for them was the movie "Capricorn one" and they were told that CGI renderings of the crew taking off for mars had been broadcast along with a "godspeed" message from the president.
but it seems pretty bold of Dyson to assume that if he throws enough people at the thing the ideas will come. I would feel better if he was starting with some promising ideas he felt worth exploring.
My niece was given one to look after for a couple of days, the whole thing sparked a family conversation and it was fun and I suspect it was educational. It may not have met its political purpose but it had other value. I think the only thing they should have done differently was to pick some of the class at random and given them two or three at a time to take home.
A criminal without a gun is less likely to kill you, so while still a criminal he is far less of a criminal, criminality is a question of degrees, we've all broken a law at some point. To my mind any crime committed with a weapon of any kind (including non firearms) should be treated as an aggravated crime and punished more harshly. In other countries guns are rarely used in crimes and the death rate is correspondingly much lower
Reducing the number of guns and changing the types of guns in public hands in the USA will make the public safer, just as doing the same has achieved in other countries
All laws affect criminals' behavior in general, evidence shows that they generally try to avoid breaking the law (eg. avoid taking hostages) except for the specific purpose they have in mind because all that does is increase the risk
Go ahead and discuss the points all you like, I feel you missed a few, the arms race between the public and the police for example, that is not helping, or the increased likelihood of dying by a gun if you actually have one, apparently they don't magically make you or your children bulletproof. Or the dishonest representation of this being all or nothing, that people could not keep a shotgun to defend their home or a hunting rifle but give up the gang and paramilitary weapons
Now they have been hacked, perhaps they will look to security all around and quit making me use their own copy of the web browser to pay for games. Yes I'm sure there is another way and it may well be chrome under the hood but I don't care. I want to use the web browser I trust by default before I enter my paypal credentials.
This seems right on point. I would have thought that looking at the total power consumption would be the next big driver, the CPU can't be the only power hog in a system with GPUs and network processors.
I'd like intel to use their high-resolution fabrication facilities to make systems with new programmable opportunities, like part of the die set aside for FPGA or specific accelerators for other functions like DSP and better crypto or image processing to accommodate new types of sensors
And maybe they can build a one-off with it. They can't base any kind of product they plan to sell on it because chances are it leaks RF like a sieve (since it's a development tool not a "product" and it will be discontinued next week when something new pops into the minds of the dev tool team at Intel.
Exactly, just because copper was discovered 11,000 years ago it does not mean they need to replace the electrical wiring with a new element. If it was working efficiently last year there is no reason to believe it won't continue to work if it is looked after by good, well compensated staff.
The payment does take significantly longer though, for one thing, it does not seem to be possible to start the process while the cashier is in the process of scanning the groceries, so it all has to take place after the total is known.
if this is the most illegal thing young people are doing today then it seems like a good deal to me. Let the law professor talk it up as a high crime and let the kids revel in their their forbidden fun.

Thanks - and it looks like these have not been banned yet

There was no logging before the machines were captured. It's probably turned on now
if they're just testing the engines why did it need the payload in place ?
is testing the engines worth the risk ? what is gained by it that they would not find out on the day of the launch ?

On the plus side - obesity is a form of carbon sequestration that is getting more popular.
Is this the open source version of the Dewey Decimal System ?

cowlostomy bags
Yes, it's called pastrami
First of all hats off to you for making this about guns.
There are many many times more gun deaths than knife deaths in the USA each year So yes, gun deaths are much worse than any other form if only by the numbers.

Well, there's this study you see, it's all right there at the top of the page...
Trump has been hacked, it's just that nobody knows what the random jumble of words in the emails mean.

So Pastafarianism makes the cut then...
An early 5th century cookbook describes a dish called lagana that consisted of layers of dough with meat stuffing, a possible ancestor of modern-day lasagna
Why should my soul care what the temperature is when it seems less worried about the lack of oxygen.
so does that mean that cars can now be made wider by the dimension of 2 mirrors ?
