Judging from what I have seen, no. Cell phone companies seem to want to LOCK people into buying songs over their networks. And, the two phones out that work with iTunes limit you to 100 songs. What would replace an iPod is an iPod with cellphone features. I don't need games on my phone. I like having the camera, but it is a pain to get pictures off it (I have a RAZR).
Give me something like a Treo, except in the size of an iPod or RAZR and I'd be happy to donate my iPod with video to someone.
Other features include automatic flogging of Authors for posting duplicates. I.Q. filter, so we won't see any of Zonk's posts. Oh, and bad grammar maker. Gotta have that.
Seriously. I mean, it's last "overhaul" was going to CSS. And what did we get? The SAME shit again. Come on guys. You are getting paid to do this, can't you come up with some styles that users can select other than "FUGIN UGLY"?
What we really need is a hardware device that can rip MOVIES to iPod video format quickly. Waiting hours to rip a DVD is just insane. Why can't they come out with a super fast way to rip them to an iPod??
But you can get a voice recorder and radio add-ons if you want it. But how many people listen to radio on their iPod? Seriously? I only listen to radio to get traffic reports (AM radio) and some news, and thats only in the car when I don't feel like listening to my iPod music.
I can see overhype being if Apple did a HUGE announcement at the Flint Center or something. Or they launched a website site teasing about a product. Or did something on their front page to hint at something.
However, they did nothing like that.
Yet, Microsoft did with Origami and no one paid any attention at all. That is sad.
Hey, it's better than Dupes. Though there has already been one today.
Seriously though, CNet and others need to get a grip. The Mini Mac was a great announcement. It wasn't the PDA or iPhone everyone keeps rumoring about, but it was a good, though small, announcement.
If you want over hype, check out Microsoft and it's Origami Project. There isn't even a product yet, and yet they have launched a website, and had a media day the same day as Apple. At least Apple is shipping a real product.
Size. They are laptop drive. But if you are going to buy one, and want the faster drive, why not give the option of adding it inplace of the 5200RPM drive?
Yes. Being a MiniMac (1.62 gigahertz I think) owner, it is EXTREMELY quiet. However, the 5200RPM drive is just really slow. I ended up taking it out and using a firewire drive (MiniStack) to run it off of. It's quite a bit faster now. I think that is the big flaw in the model they are offering now. There should be an option for 7200RPM drives for extra.
The other problem with the minimac that they have fixed in this Intel version is the memory. Even a gig of ram in my MiniMac can be filled up no problem, then the little guy slows to a crawl. 2 Gigs of Ram is a welcome addition.
Now, just need more programs to be Universal Binary....
Yeah, me too. However, since the MiniMac now supports up to 2 gigs of Ram, that shouldn't be too much on an issue. Now if some of the programs I use regularly (Protools, Finale, Digital Performer) were Intel compat......I'd get one.
In other news, Steve Jobs is going to wear shorts and a hawaiian shirt next Keynote. Steve Balmer is going to lose 100 lbs. Rob Glaser is going to lose 300lbs. Oh, and the color Blue decided it wants to be Red now.
Seriously, this article makes no sense. Dvorak is gasping at straws yet again.

And they did all this without OGG support. AAC all the way!
Since most all the "other" services are subscription, I would think that Apple's iTunes store is the source for this increase.

Oh my, MOD this one up.
Good call man.
Like anyone didn't expect this. Are they too busy with Organimi or whatever? Xbox 360? Their URGE music store?
Has Microsoft EVER released anything that was ON TIME?
Seriously. I mean, it's last "overhaul" was going to CSS. And what did we get? The SAME shit again. Come on guys. You are getting paid to do this, can't you come up with some styles that users can select other than "FUGIN UGLY"?
So, since we have determined that these things DO HIT EARTH, how about we start PREVENTING this from happening.

You mean AOL isn't going to keep me safe? The monkey isn't going to come out and wack baddies for me?

Funny how that you can look at the "specs", yet if you go HEAR it, it sounds great.
PC Magazine gave it 4.5 stars. I guess they were not snickering huh?
There have been commericals about it? I have seen very few articles about it. Basically, they are saying it's yet another Windows CE device.
I still think the funniest commerical out is the one Microsoft does promoting itself as being more secure.

Something is not right, cause the main mini mac specs page lists it as 5400 RPM.
Right here. And it's the NEW model.
Interesting, cause if you went to the link I listed it is NOT the old mini mac, unless they ran Intel chips as well. And it says 5400 RPM.
Nope, you are wrong.
Apple's specs page says they are at 5400RPM.
Show me a link where they have 7200 listed.

*Stands and claps*
Yes. People who do not use proper English do not get a response from me either. Though I am not as strict as you.
Man, I can't read that at all. Well, kind of, but it is seriously causing me a major headache.
Great idea. I'd love to see some sort of energy generator that uses trash to make energy....
Exactly. It's probably cheaper for iPods to just have ONE of the interfaces, and USB2 it is.
