    Pharmaceuticals would still be in clinical trials when their patents would expire. How about we just focus on getting rid of bad patents that don't bring knowledge or insight to society?

    I think he meant "The prototype drug won't work". Sadely(sic) making a new drug (that isn't just a generic copy of another) is like coding a new software with java while you only know C#

    I think you mean is like coding assembly for a new architecture from an existing assembly program.

    When I was as a part time system admin, I thought this would be wonderful. I would gladly let the NSA, etc secure my professor's public facing webserver in exchange for the government to use my server when they needed.

    Google Wallet doesn't need to have a static number like a credit card does. Just imagine if they changed the number transmitted hourly? Then they could detect exactly where the sniffers are located.

    They tried to innovate instead of imitate.
    Microsoft is amazing at imitation: word, excel, powerpoint, X-Box, C#, Windows, etc. When Microsoft imitates, they are second to none. What happens when they innovate, they end up with Vista, instead of copying OS X with 7.

    My all-time favorite creations are the Zune and Clippy.

    I'm tired & slow today... someone please explain this analogy with respect to internet porn (which is the context from which the quote was taken). The possibilities seem endless.

    The analogy is good, because once you learn how to swim, you can never drown.

    HIV mutates very frequently, so it's difficult to design an siRNA reagent to target it effectively. Another hurdle is delivering the siRNA to the infected T cells.

    This is a bit dated, Sirna was acquired by Merck for this kind of technology over 2 years ago. Alnylam is yet another large player in this game.
    Arthritis is a bit more difficult due to delivery issues and known pathways

    The spam feature was great when I needed a quote to ship a car across the country. I got the quote, but didn't need the service. I told them the company that, in a week they called me back asking if I needed it. They immediately went on my spam list.

    What if you date someone who doesn't get a hint?

    That hasn't happened to me but I'm now prepared.

    Google voice is awesome... free texting, I can mark incoming calls as spam, you can listen to a voicemail while it's being recorded and can actually pick up the call.

    That said, I've never heard of anyone using it with Mono.

    Beer is very good and healthy drink. I've never heard of anyone drinking it from wine glasses.

    You should come by my place when I need to wash the dishes, I have even been known to drink beer from a bowl ;-)
