    And at least it means that if those drugs are available through government programs, it'll be taking away some of that money that drug lords are supposedly making, and pump billions more dollars back into the government.

    You say that like the goal of government is to generate revenue. Of course they could nominally collect more in taxes with legalization, but the individuals in government would lose the considerable power and influence the prohibition gives them now.

    Plus, as has been made very clear in the current financial crisis, taxation is no longer the preferred mode of generating revenue for the government. Inflation is far more controllable and subtle.

    Notably, it's the only browser here that doesn't have inline find with Ctrl+F (even IE does these days), but inline find can be brought up with the / button.

    Ctrl+F works just fine, in addition to "." and "/".

    Actually, I would not mind this type of car getting popular, since it would lower the air and noise pollution in crammed cities quite considerably.

    It would generally be listed under "Intangible Assets" under fixed assets. The value of trademarks would be found in the notes, however internally generated intangibles are not measurable and thus not considered an asset.

    Goodwill is specifically the premium paid over the assets of a company during acquisitions.

    This is the way it works under GAAP anyway.

    Don't get too excited over this study. There were only 14 participants, all university students so not even slightly representative of the general population. Maybe for them doing heavy mental work was associated with stress more than it would for a cashier or a janitor, and relaxing was really uncommon. Some might have been there for the free buffet because they are too poor to afford real food, etc. With n = 14 there's just no meaningful conclusion you can reach.

    The apparent paradox is solved when we think in terms of hormonal response.

    We don't overeat because we've expanded more energy, but because hormone levels, especially insulin, have changed in the blood. So the increased mental activity might have had no effect on calories expanded but it did have a significant influence on cortisol and insulin.

    The probability of this happening is somewhere in the range of 2 X 10-13946.

    Voting is that much irrational.

    Had the Conservatives been governing under a majority government, this bill would have passed long ago (plus we'd be even more involved militarily). Let's hope the situation stays identical for a long time.

    What's good about this system is that fans will be able to follow the improvement in the sport more easily. When the score is adapted to the rising difficulty of the routines, it's tough for a layperson to see the difference between a 9.5 in 1986 and a 9.5 in 2008. If the best athletes get 18 in Beijing but 23 in 8 years, we instantly see there's been a huge imoprovement if the judging rules stay the same.

    Kind of like the lowering of record times in sprinting or swimming which get lower year after year.

    Is therer a major difference between these drives and the Nand Flash (aside from the 10 nm cells)?

    1. Gmail loads perfectly with Opera on my machine (SUSE 10.1).

    2. You can select which data to clear in the "delete private data" options. E.G. you can choose to keep your wand passwords but delete your cookies and history.
