The NES predates it by about 4 or 5 years, and was largely responsible for the recovery after the '83 crash. In fact, without the success of the NES, there may have never been a Game Boy.
I think the fact that people (myself) actually don't care is that most of us (99.99%) wouldn't have a problem, since we're not doing anything illegal.
I'd wager that everyone breaks at least one law every day. True, you may never be punished for it (as usually it's such a trivial thing it doesn't matter), but such activities may be used against you in the future (though the chances are pretty remote).
I believe the idea is to get people off XP before EOL, and that means 12.04. Once 14.04 drops, they'll as likely as not start handing that out instead.

Kia sell significantly more vehicles and spares than Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bugatti, Porsche and Morgan combined. I know which I'd rather not have.
I've driven a Cee'd - it's a pretty good car, about 95% as good as a Focus, and for less money. For those that don't have squintillions to spend on a car, a (new) Kia makes a surprisingly sensible choice.
However, the versions of C# that implement those are (realistically) Windows-only. With the slow but steady increase of alternative OSes, and the fact that Windows is far from dominant in server-space, Java still has plenty of room to swing.
Until it meets a situation it's not programmed to handle, and fails to adapt. This is one area humans still command a massive advantage.

GTAV is not your typical AAA game. Plus, there's the online add-on coming in a couple of weeks (for free!).
Most people are stupid and like shallow entertainment.
Even emeritus professors occasionally laugh at fart jokes.

Even the stupidest human is orders of magnitude smarter than the smartest computer, in terms of the raw computing power available.

That's not APK; his post is only five lines long.
I can't remember the name of the 6 second video clip platform that's popular right now
Vine
No... you do it in java now? are you masochist?
My point is about 50ft to your left.

"Old, played out, desperate to remain relevant."
And looking like old lesbians.
Not to mention being cited as the inspiration for many bands/artists old and new (outside the X Factor-dominated chart 'music' that is).
Stop listening to mainstream radio then. Stations like Planet Rock will break out some of the more obscure music from those decades from time to time.

Then the developer should have spent more than 3 seconds developing it.
You were doing H.264 encoding in 1998?
Like I said, 1990's :P
They hung up before I got the chance :(

The 1990's called - they want their joke back. #tiredmeme
Modern JVMs are fast enough, most people can't tell the difference between them and pure native code.
Strip out the screen, halve the cost.
What if they're all blue wires?
ODBC can also load text files and Excel workbooks, neither of which are RDBMSs. A true standalone RDBMS runs as a service or daemon.
I can understand you missing the word 'standalone' - it's not like it's a long word at all.
Surely, those elected to the highest offices in the land will represent the will of the people.
My sarcasm meter just exploded.
