Err, don't know much about how this kind of stuff works in Japan, but "Iron Porn" would probably actually be fair game since it would be considered a parody and all...
Although "Fair Use" doesn't seem to matter much at all anymore.
I don't know if you're TRYING to piss people off or if you honestly just didn't know, but it's a Japanese show, not Chinese. People seem to get very offended if you mix up the two.
Yeah, sure, these people may be 'infringing on their trademarks' or some other crap like that, but wouldn't having these sites be good publicity for the show? Companies pay LOTS of money to get commercials aired so they can get their show known, but then they go around shutting down hundreds of fan-sites which do absolutely nothing negative toward the show, and quite possibly make the show more known.
Yeah, I saw a couple movies on a digital projector and was blown away. The image is EXTREMELY crisp, and you don't get any of those annoying lines on the screen.
I wanna hook my computer up to one of those babies... play some Quake;)
Not sure if they just changed it or what, but it says Maybe you are looking for Slashdot.org? - The ultimate news resource for nerds..
Don't see anything about Linux there...
Although I can sympathize with your frustration about the whole Linux generalization. If I recall correctly, the majority of people still view this site from Windows. They have a MUCH higher percentage of Linux using viewers, but still...
.. and I'm sure that the public would know about it, right? Other than speculation by the press and 'proof' from other countries (like the public would believe THEM, they're just trying to blame *US*), there's really no way that the public would know about something like that.
This may be a great idea and all, but since it's not really a part of any other country, what's to stop someone from blowing the place up... no fear of retalliation... sure it may not be the 'right' thing to do, but since when do governments care about that?
I just think the DC's controllers are so uncomfortable. Maybe it's just 'cause I got too used to the PSX's, but the DC's controller seems a little large and the analog stick is in a rather horrible place. It's uncomfortable to use.
Anyone else get the impression that the Sony execs read slashdot?;)
With all this proclaiming of "They lose money on the consoles! Emulators are good! They make all their money on the games!", it wouldn't be a surprise if SOMEONE picked it up.
Ahh, yes, that would explain it. Thanks.

Though, it would be kinda nice if the spammer could be locked up, too.
According to the article he's facing up to 7 years in jail.

err, messed that up... meant:

Wow, I found that moral to be totally moving, didn't you?

Guess Fuji TV finds it logical, though.

'Eh, they prolly just threw it into a Zip file ;)

It's just been approved?
That's rather strange, because I had Mediaone for cable and my cable modem, but months ago they started calling it AT&T cable...

I'd think that Napster would be elated to have a band as popular as the Offspring supporting them.
Sure, it may not have been with cold, hard, cash... but Napster sure needs some support in the commercialized-music area...

Why don't these ISPs just make better defenses against DOS attacks in the first place? Then they wouldn't have to worry about all of this...
Well, maybe 'cause they're so friggin' cheap...

That restriction was lifted, but they never ran the story I submitted about it... and I don't have a link to it anymore...

I have rather large hands as well, but I like the playstation controller very much... everything is so well placed and accessable.

Of course, maybe suddenly Sony just "got it".

The normal psx controllers will work with the playstation 2, it's just that there won't be any analog buttons on them.
-- Dr. Eldarion --
Or maybe larger controllers... (please please please)
Larger controllers? Like the Dreamcast controllers? Whoever designed those should be shot.
I actually bought a converter so I could use my dual shocks on the dreamcast.

Sure, the people have free internet access, but how many of these people have computers to begin with?

I, for one, found it hilarious.

Bah, I want a monofilament whip. Ya know... that thing from ShadowRun...
Never heard of it, huh? Ever seen Johnny Mnemonic? Remember that guy's thumb? *G*

Just because they're not supporting Napster monetarily doesn't mean they're not supporting it's 'spirit'.
