Well, he does seem to have a point, whether it's the "right" thing to do or not. If there's no place in the license that says it's irrevocable (and, quite to the contrary, actually says that it is revocable), then they shouldn't assume that it is.

How he goes about saying it, though, is quite assholish, and I don't agree with the whole situation, but it seems that the contract does allow them to revoke the licensing.

They could also make it so it interfaces with their upcoming PSX. In fact, they could build into the PSX the ability to rip DVDs, resize them, and compress them so they'll work on the portable. They could even include some DRM so you can't just transfer it to your comptuer and share it with everyone.

While the Final Fantasy series has excellent music, I find that other series use the music to set up the atmosphere a lot better. For instance, Parasite Eve had a GREAT soundtrack that set the mood incredibly well. A great soundtrack isn't just about having good, catchy music - the music in PE actually added a LOT to the overall experience of the game because it was used like it would be in a movie rather than just being something to listen to while you run through an area.

First, a question: What's up with all this "Ctrl C" and Ctrl V" copy/paste stuff? In almost all Linux programs, when I want to copy a block of text (or a graphic or whatever) I just highlight the original, then click both mouse buttons (or the middle button if I have a 3-button mouse) where I want to paste it. This is fast, easy, and takes little hand motion on my laptop keyboard. All this Ctrl key action slows me down. I don't know about the rest of the world, but I need to work quickly if I want to earn a living, and I don't see why Windows wants me to go through all those extra hand motions just to paste a URL into a story. Geh.

You do realize that in Windows you can highlight the text, then right click on it to bring up a menu with Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, and Select All, right?

I find the Proxomitron to be a far better pop-up blocker, and it's VERY useful for other things as well.

For instance, on the VBulletin forums I frequent, I've added a search box to the top of every page, a quick reply to the bottom of each thread, a sliding sidebar for a quick-jump to each forum, blocked the "edit" button for any post that's not mine, made it stand out more when people are quoting me, and a bunch of other little things.

It's really nice to be able to change any web page to suit my needs/wants.

Hell, you could even set it up so that when it runs across Goatse, it'll change it into a cute kitten. Now THAT's useful.
