Oh yeah. My uni's got a polymer research unit, and/all/ the scientists and GAs there are foreign. They're all from either Eastern Europe (generally the Balkans) or mainland China, I think. Not a single American except among the admin staff.
Baen will also sometimes include a CD containing many E-books with certain hardbacks. It's made them some money from me, since I was introduced to certain series (1632, March Upcountry, Honor Harrington) via this.
I'd be terribly surprised; I don't think there's ever been a mixed-party ticket. The most recent failure was Kerry trying to get McCain to be his running mate in '04.

You know what I think is most exciting about John McCain? He hasn't kowtowed to the Jesus Crispies Ah, but he has, which was when I lost most of my respect for him (I'd liked him best in 2000). See this, for example.
If the Mac version is any example, TrueCrypt now uses FUSE. That's not/completely/ independent of the kernel, but it's still rather more stable than having to recompile TC every time you build a new kernel.
We did have some state representative from Lamar introduce a bill a couple years ago saying that IIRC the US is a Christian nation, but that was quickly voted down, and was generally held to be an election-year stunt.
I left mine out in the sun for a few hours, and when I picked it back up there were many missing horizontal lines in the display. The rest worked OK, though.
The only thing nobody seems to notice much around here is that IBM has been winning. What are the sales figures of OS/2 and SmartSuite versus Windows and Office, again?
Yes. I'm not a member of any party (don't have to be in Missouri, and I've voted for candidates from all three parties) but I've got my voter's registration.

The obvious solution is to re-implement all of our laws in Lojban, since that language is by nature non-ambiguous.
The downside is, of course, that Joe Luser can't read Lojban, so we'll have to educate them early to grok it.
that deep-throating is unacceptable on Slashdot?

Yes, this was pretty bad and a blatant attempt at getting hits.
I wonder if Soulskill is Zonk's sock-puppet.

You lost your brother, but hey, free salsa!
And the Yahoo news comments were at least as bad. Some things just shouldn't have comments.

Sonny, I've been playing video games since I was two, and I'm 28 now.
Get off my lawn.
And change the combination on my luggage!
Fucker, you made me get mental picture.
Not pleasant!
It's here and it works.

The site is back up & is actually responding pretty quickly.
Bullshit, unless you provide a cite.

You could mount a strap on it & use it as a shield. It'd probably stop pistol rounds and arrows, at least.

Pescadero == Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox, yes?
When all you cock-smoking teabaggers didn't pay your $699 license fee, that's when.
