Are they contractors? If they don't get benefits and have to pay their own taxes, etc. then it's not quite that ridiculous.

If they're benefits-getting employees, wow. I've been doing IT for 7 years at a state university in the Midwest and I get $23.50/hour, started at ~$17/hr. Our cost-of-living in this area is pretty low; for example, a 1900 square-foot house with 1/4 acre lot might go for $158K new.

Sounds a lot like what Terry Goodkind ended up doing a few books into his over-long series: he started heavily smoking the Objectivist crack, having his characters make Rand-esque political screeds. One of the later ones had a section that was basically his attempt at The Speech[1] in Atlas Shrugged, something like 50-60 pages straight (I shit you not) of Richard blathering about politics.

That book was thrown against the wall and I've never touched Goodkind's stuff again.

[1] For a reason which now escapes me, I read both AS and even the Speech when I was 18.

Skip the fifth movie; in fact, deny that it even existed. Probably should skip the first one as well, and the final TNG movie, and the one before that, but the rest are pretty good. Especially see II, III[1], IV, VI, First Contact, and the '09 reboot.

I'm a B5 partisan myself, though it's certainly had its weak moments as well. Kicking and punching to control a ship's weapons, for instance.

[1] mainly because IV won't make as much sense if you don't see this first.

First off, Nvidia are buttheads. They are. But they also have a right to make money.

Has anyone ever said they don't?

But this brings up the other side of the dirty coin, as it were. That the Linux (in particular) community seems to have a major issue with paying for anything.

That'd be why pretty much every Humble Indie Bundle has gotten much higher per-capita payments from Linux users, then?

Get your head out of your ass.
