It's not the culture, it's the supportive society and power they're lamenting the loss of. The more deaf there are the more pressure they can exert politically for support, the more people the deaf have with which to share something in common, and the more they can feel special/different/unique/etc. It's 100% selfishness on the part of the deaf community; particularly for those which cannot utilize the implants for various reasons. They're attempting to use political correctness to equate handicap to beauty instead of individuality to beauty.
Be careful with strictly answering "no." They'll ask questions like "do you mind if I...?" to get around that. Sometimes full answers like "I do not consent" work best.
Nope. I was young, and every bit of the money I had at the time went to defending the bullshit misdemeanor charge against a falsified report (ended up being reduced to a no-point infraction because I had no money to actually go to court). I brought it up to my lawyer and her response was lackluster.
The reason for the stop was a tight turn in a parking lot caused my tire to squeal. He trashed the inside of my truck, then magically decided he was no longer placing me under arrest and let me go. On the falsified report, he stated that I passed within 6' of a structure thus threatening the occupants. The problem was at 11 at night everything was closed and in order to pass within 6' of that building I would have to be on the opposite side of the 30' wide road, thread between palm trees in a 5-6' wide planter, and drive on a 5' sidewalk.
Sadly, I was an idiot kid with no money to press the issue after getting the misdemeanor dismissed.
I have. Cop asked if he could search my truck during a traffic stop. I was arrested so the truck would be "unattended" thus could be towed and he could "inventory" it.
"I would prefer you didn't." "Why?" "Strictly on principle. I don't agree with that and not a fan of people digging through my stuff." "Sir, I'm going to have you step out of the car and place your hands behind you back..."
And forcing everyone to use one is just as bad. I don't want any of those sites authenticating me everywhere I go. One more way to tie your life together online.
More likely a way for smart buyers to get a fully loaded car without paying for it. Buy the base model, then pay $200 for the unlock mod chip, and instantly you have the luxury version that costs $12k more.
Yes, we do think those rights should apply outside the US. Mainly because we've thought those were natural (or god-given, depending on preference) rights, not privileges provided by government, since our country's conception.
All grid-tie systems cut power output if no mains power is detected.
My guess is the firefighters wouldn't appreciate having a live electrical system once they cut mains. That, and shorted batteries are a whole lot of fun.

Gah, the day I don't have mod points.
But if you rule out a reasonable amount of everything else, attempting to treat depression may give results.
Agreed, double dipping on "private" profits and public funds seems a little...what do they always call the private sector?...Oh yeah, greedy.
Minimal casualties. It wasn't bloodless.
You mean more than it already does loaded with armor?
Yet, somehow, no one else needs that same right?
I think he got it right. She wants freedom from CIA snooping. I think that's good for all of us.
1st Amendment acknowledges a right. Suppressing the video is suppressing the right.
But how long until they're ordered to scrub any page containing it from the search results?
I defend it, but I'm not a user. Several departments around here are known for less-than-above-board tactics to uphold the status quo.

It wasn't for safety, I was sitting on a squad car hood 20' away. It was "for inventory purposes."
Which could be proved in court to be false, thus poisoning the evidence.
Posted answers above. Yes, he falsified the report.
Misdemeanor Reckless Driving.

Don't have time to do their job correctly? It's as simple as asking "do you live here?"
Some people really should check how easy they make it for cops to trample rights.

Or a crafty bastard that knows his constituency will fall for the "I didn't know they were doing this" act, again.

I wouldn't say that, the hot little brunette number was explosive.
