    About starcraft, it's kinda silly that you can create as many chars as you want and have 0-0.
    So if you're really weird you can have one good char and alot of crappy ones that you join newbie-games with.

    Admirable? What's admirable about it? When I hear a new artist/band i try to find atleast one of their albums. Listen to it and if i like it i'll go out and buy not only that album but all or some of the others they have done (depending on how much they have done).

    I refuse to judge a band by listening to their hits or just a few songs since even if you don't like them you can still like rest.

    Yet again someone assume that you everyone has the same laws as you have in your country. Some countries doesn't honour software patents and similar. Just let some dude in that country release it, or simply remove the (c). Things can slip out quite easily.

    Computer literacy isn't always a good thing :)

    Of course it is, I for one doesn't think that does that destroy fall in this category though. If people didn't know how things worked we would have security by obscurity, and we've all (hopefully) seen the bad sides of that (and since there are no good sides... it's had to see any other side ;) ).

    On SunManagers i used to get about 100 a day on heavy days, and that was a LOT for me to handle. I ended up creating a new e-mail account specifically for mailing lists.. Between the SM list, Legato NotWorker, Veritas...

    Just a side comment: Slashdot looks *SO MUCH BETTER* in this blue color. When will we get the option to theme slashot, like other weblog engines have? :/

    offtopic comment: Yeah I agree, specially about the customize thingie... it would really be sweet if we could design our own comments boxes with some %-variables or similar. But i dunno if slashdot could handle the extra load of that...
    colour choice i've missed for a long time though

    I disagree. I use it on both my work computer (1ghz) and on my home desktop computer (800mhz). I just love it, it never gets in my way and is just nice and fast. if the system/wm uses less resources the more is left for the applications...

    Slashdot is not slow, not compared to other hightraffic sites. It may be slower then your personal homepage with two hits per year. And most of the time when it's slow it is not its fault it's the damn us <-> europe connection.

    Yeah, but it IS an alpha release. I bet my right hand on that they haven't done all to make it work everywhere but rather to get out a fast and sorta working alpha version so people can start testing and see that it works.

    I've had it running about 6 months now and the only time it crashed was when the power went out.
