    Sure it's possible. The whole point is the cost, not that it impossible. Economically it is impossible for the UK to purchase 7 petabytes of storage each week.

    and who do you think would end up paying for the required storage and cpu time? i'd bet on the taxpayers

    that's true and everyone knows it, however it isn't aimed at "terrorists" but rather those who would oppose the war against "terrorists". similar to telescreens in 1984. they were not to monitor whoever it was that oceania was at war with, but the domestic population who opposed perpetual war abroad and repression at home

    you didn't read the contiki website. it does indeed speak the commodore 64 and apple][ in addition to being targeted at more modern embedded devices

    you joke.. recently my bank replaced the keypad (not the whole thing just the keypad) on the Drive through ATM with a braille one..

    the factories that make the keypads make keypads for many different uses, including ones where it would be reasonable for a blind person to use. a payphone or an atm inside a mall, for instance. instead of making a non-braille model for places where the blind can't use them, they make just the braille one because it's cheaper to manufacture just the one model

    yes, i misread your post. my eyeballs went right around `, who'. i still maintain however that someone close to a corrupt official who is too dumb to understand the evil of the actions that the corrupt official asks them to perform does not deserve to be executed. someone that dumb and weak is just as much a victim of the corrupt official as everyone else

    I am so SICK of people pointing to the Democrats in congress and complaining that they alone have not turned things around. People have to remember that it takes a 2/3 majority to make a bill VETO proof

    i am so SICK of democratic legislators flat out lying about this

    why would bush veto a funding bill for a war he supports? the issue here is cutting off funding by not passing the bill. the democrats have a simple majority and there do have the power to make sure the bill doesn't pass

    yes, i understand that they have different histories, i was just saying that they're similar in spirit. drug patents are a good example of patent protectionism, but now that you've made me think about it, i'm having a difficult time coming up with a similar example for copyright
