    I'm past being polite to goofs like you. First of all, you and your ilk consistently used how much raw data is involved to cripple climate scientists with repeated demands for terabytes of it, over and over again.

    Second, assholes like you would then pounce on outlier results from a few rogue data collectors as "proof" there's some kind of global scientific conspiracy going on, even when its perfectly obvious there was some kind of mechanical failure. And then your bullshit conspiracy garbage gets resurrected over and over again, regardless of how often it's shot down. Which is your aim...divert the time and energy of decent people into repeatedly debunking your lies.

    So yes, real scientists are afraid to just throw raw data out there into the public domain.

    This is their move into politics. Like kiddy porn and similar red button stuff, North Korean broadcasting is the far end of the spectrum. But it is a spectrum. I would expect the standards to slowly shift to the point where anything the US fuhrer of the moment deems inappropriate will be censored.

    I agree totally about Win10 being Big Brother's wet dream made real. I have no plans to use it, and as much as anything else, it's the philosophy behind it. Whatever privacy leaks you fix, you can be confident MSoft will be working hard to find ways around your fixes. Their philosophy is that what you want as a user is less important than what they want to get out of monetizing you.

    I still use XP Pro on two machines, Win7 on others. I still get XP security updates thanks to a simple registry hack. And thanks to some simple, common sense security measures, I've never had any kind of problem.

    The best part? l get access to a range of software and supported hardware smug little Linux pricks can only dream about.

  12. The searches I've had to do have been more granular...specific federal and provincial subsidies/tax breaks to corporations operating the Alberta's tar sands. Not being US-based, they're pretty much useless in forums like this...and trying to remember what I did with them would be more brain exercise than I feel like having at the moment.

    Amazon Prime in Canada costs $79, but AFAIK, it doesn't include access to Grand Tour. If it does and I've got it wrong, there's still a huge number of Top Gear fans in a lot of countries who don't have a legal option for getting the show.

    Absolutely 100% agreed. I never put private information (mine or anybody else's) beyond my control like that. It's the height of irresponsibility, and there have been more than enough situations proving so already.

    My "cloud" is off-site secure storage on physical media.
