I bought two computers with proprietary vendor-supplied program managers running on top of Windows 95 (a Compaq and HP). Both times, the program manager supplied was useless, providing no added value or differentiation between computer makers. At the time, it was a royal pain in the ass to figure out how to disable them. As much as I hate to side with Microsoft, they should at least include the requirement that any "altered boot-up sequences" may be disabled at the end user's choice by using the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel.
Much like Internet Explorer, there is no way to remove Microsoft Reader from these devices, since it's burned in ROM. As you may remember from a previous article, Microsoft Reader prevents the free exchange of information by preventing the sharing of e-books, the same type of sharing you might do with a paper book that you own.
Why doesn't Netscape offer an easy link there? Do they honestly think that people with GoZilla or Getright prefer StupidDownload to a real download manager?
I have one of the earliest Game Boys. The display was missing a few columns the last time I used it. Started out as just one, and grew. I haven't had it on in the last year, so I don't know what condition it's in now.
I tried to "Ass Jeves" on this one, but to no avail. Here is the most plausible explanation I can come up with: the girl walked up to a computer in the library, which already had a web browser open to a search page. The last person to leave typed a bunch of pr0n keywords in the search box, and filled the box with spaces so the keywords were hidden. She enters her search in the search box, and mindlessly clicks on the first link that appears, which is going to be porn because of the suggestive words that were placed in the search by the previous user, and naked people suddenly appear on the screen. CmdrPorno
The looks of a worried Gates and an angry Ballmer do not bode well for Micros~1's future. But what really got me is Gates' quote: "Steve's promotion will allow me to dedicate myself full time to my passion -- building great software..." What, does he mean he is going to work for a Linux company?
>>>"The URL you requested: http://www.eng.buffalo.edu/~clau/mozilla is restricted, and cannot be accessed. Please do not repeat the request." Sounds like the nazis that administer the LAN at my school. They blocked Segfault for crying out loud!
You scan and OCR the document, preferably with a sheet feeder.

Stop watching MTV.
They don't play music any more anyway...

Looks like it's back up now.
I don't think whoever did the HTML was thinking that deeply. You're reading too much into it.
