What I can't get over is the fact that the OLPC project has been plagued by so many problems. First the price increases, then the Windows fiasco (depending on which side you're on), things that don't work...
While I know it's not an easy task to design, implement, and distribute a $100 laptop to kids in developing countries, perhaps a group less prone to political infighting (HAHA!) should "fork" it and start their own project.
Maybe there is a God, maybe not -- but would any sane being *design* something like this?? Remember: even God has a sense of humor. Just look at the Platypus.
Thank you and enjoy the show.
P.S. We sincerely apologize to all Platypus enthusiasts out there who are offended by that thoughtless comment about Platypi. We at View Askew respect the noble Platypus, and it is not our intention to slight these stupid creatures in any way.
"but he agreed to it" No, he volunteered for it.

There is also general agreement that Hudgens volunteered for the "team-building exercise" but seriously, WTF were these guys thinking?
Looks like Java is finally becoming what they wanted it to be. A platform on which to deploy the same program, regardless of the underlying hardware.
too bad it's only on mobile phones.
I have a great idea. I'll start PAWAA (publishers and writers of america association) group, and we'll take down those dirty libraries. Who are they to allow people to read without buying their own copy of a book?
don't forget that new hardware is going to be necessary to allow access to this newfound wealth of broadband. Think of the construction jobs... Somebody has to lay the cable, build the datacenters, etc. Is this not where most new jobs will com from?
As a scientific theory, evolution is nice. But it's just that, a theory. In these creationism vs. evolution debates, evolution has become a religion. Something people take at face value, not understanding the reasoning behind it. "The preacher says:" has become "The scientist says:"
Yeah, like IBM would use Intel chips in their top of the line supercomputers! They use Power chips, and not even very fast ones at that.

I hope that soon they'll disable the creation of OS dependent add-ons. Man, I really want my browser to match aqua. so what if I don't have osx?

So when can I expect Amarok on Windows?
Alright, my dream of becoming Master Chief is nearing completion!

yes, something is very wrong when the count isn't simply incremented by one. How hard is this, and how hard is it to print out a receipt?
I use Linux because I heard that it's the only platform thet Duke Nukem Forever will run on!
The fist thing I see on this page is an add for MacBooks!
Austin, that mujahedin was a fembot...

Is this Slashdot? People are actually saying that MSFT buying someone out is a good idea?
